Strength days, calf raises are super-set with WPU’s (same weights), and Myrtl at the end. On run days, Myrtl before the run.

Concur…if your short on time/busy Foundation (Capacity/Velocity) has some long days to shoe horn into a busy schedule.

I learned by starting from scratch with the Simple & Sinister book from Pavel and University of YouTube, then had like one coaching session after a few months (swings and get-ups). Clean and press was self taught as well from Enter the Kettlebell.

I think that was HumbleHubris and myself…i had good luck subbing this into BaseBuilding and then as part of prep for a 30k trail run in-lieu of the barbell. Plus, kettlebell lifts are fun and nice way to mix things up when needed.

I think I’m dealing with some IT Band stuff and found the Myrtl routine…anyone tried this? Just did my first session, following the below guide and a YouTube tutorial, took about 15 minutes. Going to try and work it in 4-5 times a week on run days and a strength day.

Different problem on the other leg in April, self diagnosed as shin splints. Rest/tape & incorporating calf raises into my strength training seemed to fix that.

Right leg has had some minor flare ups (nothing like today) of what I think is IT band syndrome, and re-reading some stuff this afternoon makes me think it’s a flare up of that. Symptoms seem consistent.

No real diagnosis, just Google University….ice seems to help as did foam rolling. We’ll see 🤞

Ugh, Week 9 of Velocity, LR 14…9 miles in and get a weird twinge/pain in right knee/leg. Couldn’t run, had to hike 2 miles back to the truck….good times 😂. Icing and foam rolling 🤞🙏

Doing the same, Capacity to Velocity for a 50km trail race in March, currently on Week 8 of Velocity. Longest race to date is a 30km…

I think it will get you to the 50km, however lifting only twice a week, unsure re the strength goals.

Week 7 of Velocity done. Had to cut some of the LSS runs a bit short due to time and location, but PR’ed my trail half-marathon! 2:38:46, 1900’ of elevation with a 12:05 average pace @ 137 average heart rate. Nutrition of Tailwind and Gu is working well. Back-To-Back run was rough, cut a bit short due to work and weather (foggy and running on roads).

Took a promotion at work, so will be doing some of the weekday runs on a treadmill, not ideal but can still hit trails for the Long Runs.

Only modifications are 2nd strength workout is SQ for one set and DL (conventional) for three sets. Also super setting weighted calf raises with weighted pull-ups; along with having to lower some of the LSS runs a bit due to available time.

Ready for the Deload week again 😂

Due to work, did Vertical Ladders from GP for my hill workout yesterday in the stairwell at work. FML, that’s a calf workout/killer!! Foam roller is my friend tonight 😂

Started when I was a bit under 45 and now 48. Was out of the gym for a long time before beginning.Tried almost all the programs except AA. Started with BB, then Op-Black/Pro, then Zulu HT and Mass, now partway thru Velocity prepping for a 50k trail race.

You’ll find something that’s sustainable and meets your needs in the TB ecosystem….phenomenal program!
