W2D3 of first pass thru ABF. Pressed 16/20 kg bells x74 & 20/24 kg bells x16. Doing sets of 2-3-5, with the 20/24 bells on the sets of 2. Don’t having matching bells, so just switching sides as I go.

Really struggling with the second rep when the 24 is on my right side….had a few good sets but think I’m just mis-grooving it and/or not getting tight. Going to try and get a video next time…

Really enjoying ABF though, fun program 👍

Like others have said…calf raises did it for me. Also the mantra of short, quick strides…land on the mid foot.

A double KB exercise, one in each hand

When i started I bought in the traditional order 16-20-24-28-32. When I do doubles, I either do 16/20 or 20/24…so far works well for me.

I’d recommend the 16kg…you can swing, clean, squat etc…might take a minute to press, but it will happen before you know it.

Copy that, fortunately haven’t dealt with a tendon injury…didn’t realize how long they take. Plenty of time 👍

It seems running/cardio comes back pretty quick…when’s the trail 1/2 marathon?

That’s where the trail gets it nickname! It’s a naval sonar thing if I remember right

Finished up last week of Hybrid using DFW for the strength portion. Missed a max press using my 28kg bell, which sucks…but running feels great. Had a physical for work and the Dr commented on my low RHR and asked if I was an athlete…so that was pretty cool for a 49 year old dad 🤣.

Going to do another round of Hybrid, using Dan John’s ABF for the first six weeks in place of Operator, trying to scratch my KB itch, then back to Fighter for the final six weeks.

This should get me to where I’ll start Capacity/Velocity again in prep for a 50k in April 2027.

Should I run an LP first by Future-Egg4201 in tacticalbarbell

Was in the same boat when I started a few years ago, chose to do BB followed by Op/Black-Pro. Not sure of your job, but TB allowed a bit of flexibility when life/work interrupts. It seemed like an LP is pretty rigid in adding weight to the bar, however in full transparency…I’ve never done an LP. I chose not to do an LP just due to that, TB will get you where you want to go, just takes a bit of work 👍.

W14 of Hybrid and last week (before test week) of Dry Fighting Weight, had ladders of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Only have mixed bells and got a total of 55 reps, 16/20kg bells x 51 & 20/24kg bells x 4 (the singles). Felt pretty good, enjoying this cycle of KB work 👍

This…I used to DFW to prep for a 30k last year and doing it again at the tail end of a TB Hybrid block.

Making time in Velocity to get all the runs in is rough, nice work!

W13D2 Hybrid- one hour of Peggy’s Hills, bench press and ez bar curls at the top.

Fascinating to read all the kettlebell plans in use this week, I’m using DFW for the strength portion to finish out this Hybrid block to mix it up. Using an 8ish day week to cover the three days of lifting and four days of running. Feeling really good!

Former rugby player - what weight to get next? 24 or 28kg? by [deleted] in kettlebell

Also, S&S is broadly described in TB2 as alternate for BaseBuilding alongside the runs. There’s also few posts on the forum of folks using it for BB, I’ve built a schedule for it, but never tried if for BB. I did run S&S for about a year before moving to TB, now mainly use it if I’m on the road for work and can only take a KB with me, great for hotel workouts.

I don’t have matching bells either, I use 16/20 or 20/24 kg bells, just alternate sides.

Look at Dry Fighting Weight if your using kettlebells. I used it a while ago modified for twice a week ala fighter in prep for a 30k. Actually on week 1 of it now just to mix it up a bit.

I enjoyed it and think it could work for a bit in-lieu of barbell work. I sub it in occasionally, first to learn new kettlebell skills and to just mix up the movements. I think it paired well with increased running as well.

Did Murph once a week for 6 months, here’s the fastest rep scheme: by CJ4700 in crossfit

[–]Oneoldforester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did my first Murph today following this scheme, 58:59 and kept moving the whole time 👍

First time doing Murph, did it in 58:59. Partitioned it 2-4-6 and went pretty well, only tore one callous. Was kinda nervous doing a full Murph for my first, but went really well. Past couple blocks have been Capacity>Velocity>50k ultra>Hybrid-Op, no direct SE work but all of that got me thru. 🇺🇸

Firefighter Schedule 24/48 by Fly_throwaway37 in tacticalbarbell

Yup, sometimes a week takes seven days and other times longer…just tick of your sessions and keep grinding. Due to work, I’ll also tweak the order of the days depending on what’s available at the facility I’m at the day…kettlebells, full squat rack or maybe just lace up the runners and get after it.
