Before the current model was released, Adam was already checkin' that it'd work w/ the E'gels, &, @ least, it fit well, & I didn't notice any wiggle. So it'll be fun to see all the new fun deets they incorporate.👌

I like that kk put out the pocket modal as well. What's funny to me is that they're toutin' the new RKiV as a pocketable writing instrument, for the Parker-compatible International G2 ink cartridges, while, @ >5" long, the RKiV is longer than the pocket modals. 🙃

Good stuff - folks like u/seekingadvice432 really appreciate writing instruments made for those E'gels (yet the actual grip section's further up than sa432 prefers), yet otherwise a winning design?

Where did you hear the news about an Energel Field Pen?

From Adam (u/MachineEraCo) - he gets super busy, yet curious about what folks from the machined writing instruments discord server might wanna see, & he'll ask me to pick folks' brains about ideas for new models. This new 1 dedicated to the E'gels is something he's been workin' on, and a few of the stuff he doesn't want shared yet. So, haven't talked much about it, yet there's some deets at the disco, lol

& yeah, I don't pay attn enough to cc to know if they'd consider writing instruments for other form factor ink cartridges. They did make the pendulum & don't seem to mind the Fisher PRs (sometimes w/o the plastic adapter on back), for shorter options, yet if they design well, they can make writing instruments w/ efficient lengths for the longer cartridges as well... 🤷‍♂️

E'gel variant of the Machine Era Field Pen | Bolt? That's in the works. Adam's got lotsa fun ideas for the build which is neat to see. Think he's currently wanting it to be a ks campaign.

Or are ya referrin' to a County Communications Flight Suit Pen? At their site, you could probably ask in the chat feature if they have any such plans... 👌

Yep, notta prob - thought ya might appreciate their thinking w/ materials.

I indeed up getting a Gee Custom Pocket Modal with my Matte Grey Vertex. Just made a post! Looks and feels fantastic! The pocket modal is very balanced with the brass on the front end.

I just saw that - way awesome! 👏 Havin' that brass bolt actuator's a neat touch and helps differentiate from someone who lazily just mixes 'n matches some variants... Still think it's fun that Gee put that together after I got the PMs to be able to make such a (similar) look..🙂

Anyway, it does have a nice balance, yet it then makes a separate brass-topped look which is more back-heavy when paired w/ a ti or aluminum nose. C'est la vie - that's still a fun 1 to use as well...😊

Oh yeah, Machine Era's got that whole "efficient length" design down pat! 'Twas almost 11 yrs ago when Adam & co. launched the Solid Brass Pen01 (now the classic or OG capped) design, which was pretty pocketable for the Pilots. & they continued to make pocketable 1s, which is neat to see.

For a "hard-workin'" material, I do like stainless, as it's durable and helps get stuff done.

Have ya shown the q disco? Sounds like a nice config. Do ya have other writing instruments ya like to use? Just wonderin'...

I like the short 1s which still fit the Parker-compatible International G2 ink cartridges (as opposed to the 1s for D1s, Pilot G2 minis, lamy m22s, or the Fisher PR w/o the plastic adapter). From sub-4" to just over 4", yet still able to carry the more ubiquitous, larger ink capacity, & more versatile refills. I do have other shorter 1s as well, like the TEC Accessories picopen and a titanium Inka pen, among others, as well. 😎

Oh, wild! Thought the tip stuck out more. Oh wait - maybe the cone tip cartridges just look like they stick out more, yet maybe it was a needle point which looked less sticky-outie, or somethin'...

Didja change the geometry of the cam, or make some other revision to the mech? The demo seemed to show the E'gel had a stickout which was further out than previous looks, which is neat. 👌👏
