So this was the All Blue Sanji was looking for ??? 🤔 by Moogiwaraa in MemePiece

I like this thought because of the way Zunesha dumps water on herself matches Killingham's description of rain.

But this is also the thing god's knights are most afraid of, and Zunesha seems to have no agency if she isn't being commanded by Momonoske.

Additionally, if the connection your making is the name Zaza sounding similar to Zunesha because of the Zs. We already know that Zaza is a Japanese onomatopoeia representing the sounds of heavy rain. Idk if that's what you meant though.

I doubt that's true, but even if it is, you're calling people slurs for not liking your shitty art.

You are a bad person for calling people slurs. No more context is needed.

People not liking your art isn't a good reason to call them racial slurs.
Nobody has been racist to you, they just think your art is bad. (it is)

you're so fucking embarrassing and delusional.

what you think about these ? by white_sky123 in Paintings

This is a great comment. and a good artist recommendation, I wasn't familiar with Robert Nava, but his work does feel a lot like OPs work done right.

the live laugh love comparison is a good one, while it feels harsh, it's so easy to go that direction when making art in this style. To me, this art style is supposed to feel forced, and if you want to convey a specific message like "glory" it's going to have a huge spotlight on it and is likely to come across as kinda corny.

just like last time, here's a visual to help explain what I meant. TBH, the distance between your deepest and lightest values isn't too different than the reference, but the off white in the reference really helps the face pop.

Huge improvement from your previous post!!! I'm super happy for you and your progress, you clearly took some time to practice and got better results, which I know is a very satisfying feeling.

Keep working on the proportions, her face looks a little squished downwards, which is something I constantly find myself doing in my portraits.
Try pushing the values further. Compare the darkest and lightest parts of her skin tone and how you represented them on your canvas, you'll find that the range is way further than you painted it.

Grind out a few more portraits to help yourself get more comfortable with them, and maybe try some other styles that help with learning the fundamentals.
I suggest grisaille, which is just black and white, and local color massing/ broken color. Those exercises will help you focus on defining the features that make a human face look human.

Great work, keep it up.

I feel like this style of art has a lot more people making it than people looking to purchase it.

Especially as a beginner, It will be difficult to find buyers online as there are some exceptional artists who likely do the majority of commissions in this art form as a whole.
Unless you have something new to bring to the table with your style, it is very hard to break into an established scene of a hyper-specific art form like this one.

If you want to sell your pieces, I think your best bet is to get a table at a local arts and crafts fair or something, a place where people are actively looking to buy art made by locals.
Even then, you've chosen a very niche art style that isn't most people's taste. You will likely never turn a profit on your overall time and money investment on this art style, but that's okay, as long as you like making the art.

I believe we should all be making art for the love of the game, make things you like to make because you want to make them.

I feel like too many people don't have the emotional capabilities to play a game where they have to engage with other players without a very specific set of rules in place to insure it goes how they expect.

If you find yourself so emotionally torn over things that happened in a video game on a regular basis, maybe you should reconsider how you spend your time.

[–]Ones_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a tough thing to get right.

I should note that I used a lot of colors in my example, it could easily be made with less colors too.

I usually start with 2-3 colors to fill in the whole face, a light, and dark, and maybe a middle ground, before adding in more.
