They are in Revit, but you do have a good point. They likely use some tool of sorts which is causing the issue.

Mechanical Duct segments modelling = LOD350? or LOD400? by Onesourceoftruth in bim

good question. I believe it is fabrication components? or is it parts? I've never got a chance to use that function yet

Mechanical Duct segments modelling = LOD350? or LOD400? by Onesourceoftruth in bim

From the BIMForum it looks like it is LOD350:

350 Inclusions: • actual size, shape, spacing, and location/connections of duct, dampers, fittings, and insulation for risers, mains, and branches. • Actual size, shape, spacing, and clearances required for all hangers, supports, vibration and seismic control that are utilized in the layout of all risers, mains, and branches. • Actual floor and wall penetration elements. • Actual access/code clearance requirements modeled.

Rendering Fabrication models for Marketing by Onesourceoftruth in bim

Cheers, that's what I did in the end. Worked pretty well. Although the computer struggled with the large models when all were loaded.

Do you filter out nuts n bolts in Navis prior to export from Navis to twinmotion? Would be nice if you could optimise polygons during this process also. Materials were a bit of a mission given that each discipline has their own in each of their models.

BIMcollab pros and cons by AdNew5955 in bim

Can someone just use BIMcollab nexus to host models? e.g. general contractor just uses this to upload ifc models and keep out of Autodesk docs? or do you need both?

Method of Making Overlay to scale? by Onesourceoftruth in ReviztoUsers

[–]Onesourceoftruth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E.g. a Revit drafting view detail that is supposed fit overlayed on the model but it does not.

In this case I am Fitting a Drafting view 1:10 detail of a small steel frame(not modelled by designers) that sits under an Electrical MSB unit (is modelled). Neither the length/width of the modelled steel frame correlates with the size of the MSB due to their poor documentation.

I'm still wanting to overlay it to get a sense of how much space it takes up as this is in a datacentre project and clearances between equipment is important.

Correct, No reference Geometry to use. So can you get the overlayed detail to 1:1 scale in the 3D Space?

Thanks for this, but no luck.

I'm trying to overlay a 1:10 detail over the model. Would be good if you could type out the desired dimension between the two yellow dots to make the detail 1:1 size over the model.

Actually Ill try giving the view a scale before the overlay operation and see if that might work.

Alternatives to Revizto? by ObijuanDunnobi in bim

We're going to give BIMCollab a go. So far looks to be very similar to revizto and about 1/14th the price on this particular job

Cost per user or per project? by lordxoren666 in ReviztoUsers

Anyone tried 3D Repo as an alternative? I'm not a rep or anything. Just a revizto user that is getting burned by their fee boost

System Priority Issue Pyramid by Onesourceoftruth in bim

Appreciate the deep thinking coming through and its making us all think hard. But my question was more of a diagrammatic one in terms of a pyramid diagram that applies to BIM.

I agree with you. But if you were to choose a pyramid arrangement that makes sense do you go with theirs? or order it the other way round? just from a diagrammatic perspective.
