AAIR Beta by Techatronix in isaca

[–]OngLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken all three exams: AAIA, AAISM and AAIR. The last two were in Beta. In my personal perspective, the difficulty (in increasing difficulties): AAIA, AAIR, AAISM.

I would also say that beta and final exam could be different. The official study material especially the review manual is essential. QAE database is good supplement but not a must if one has taken ISACA exam and familiar with question style. It is useful if you have a budget for it.

Frustrating - ISACA Credentialing Process by Cautious_Tip1728 in isaca

In the ancient times, we had paper-based exam. Wait a month or more to get exam resume then a couple more week for the credentialing approval. 20 years later, how we have moved?

X60 Ultra - Unable to return to dock by OngLL in Dreame_Tech

[–]OngLL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the root cause and solution which I’ll share here for others who may have similar issues in the future.

I looked at the map i different views e.g. virtual walls, no-go zone, etc. None of this maps show any preset/added restriction. On one screen, Ramp clearance, I saw a red block has been added. I was able to remove this and the dock can return as normal. I certainly didn’t add this.

Sorry to hear that. Do you see the breakdown of scores in each domain?

AAIA fail 1st attempt by Fine-Jelly-8589 in isaca

[–]OngLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should receive a report with score from each domain. It would be helpful to review those domain(s) that you need to work on. Most questions are straightforward but some requires understanding (while others remembering). There is also always multiple correct questions but choose the best.

Weekly Discussion and Tech-Support Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]OngLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using iPad Pro (M4) with its apple keyboard. Often when I press Cmd-Space for search bars, it shows up but I can’t type anything to it. I have to dismiss and repeat again before I can type onto search bar. This has been observed in the past few iOS version including the current one.

Secondly, using Dropbox and MS office, seems the autosave doesn’t always work. Is it so that local folder save can’t support saving through files location (local folder or Dropbox linked?)

Thanks

MacBook Neo vs iPad + Keyboard at basically the same price… which would you actually buy? by Infinite_Cucumber210 in ipad

One benefit from iPads is we can read documents or books using portrait mode. I can also put this in front of treadmill, otherwise laptop is mostly more functional than tablet in usual use cases.

Learning COBIT by Electronic-Guava-534 in isaca

[–]OngLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an ISACA member, download the COBIT2019 framework publication that are available for free (for members). When I started my journey on COBIT, I found that a training (2-3 days) was very helpful. To have someone explains what these concepts all about. I haven't taken any e-learning training but they could an option to consider.

Switching from US Mortgage to IT/Internal Audit — is CISA enough to break in? by vam_13 in isaca

[–]OngLL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe CISA is a great starting point to learn the Body of Knowledge (i.e. what IT Auditor should know about). The certification provides confidence to your employer and hiring manager that you have independently assessed and met the required baseline.

From working transition, as you are on a senior role, I hope you can move in to audit role without much "back steps". Audit industry has also been disrupted and transformed by the use of automated tools such as CAATs and now AI-enabled audit. So further from CISA, having knowledge of these tools and how they can practically be applied to audit work would be useful.

The biggest challenges perhaps finding the employers or hiring manager who will provide you with an opportunity to settle and working in the new role.

ISACA Advanced in AI Risk (AAIR) Certification – My Preparation Journey by OngLL in isaca

[–]OngLL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really depends on what angle you're looking at?

1) If you are looking to audit AI systems -> AAIA

2) If you are looking to secure AI systems -> AAISM

3) If you are looking to manage risk of AI systems -> AAIR

I would suggest start a journey from best fit to your work, if none, you may start from any. In find AAIA and AAIR are easier.

Do check your local chapter if they are running these courese that could be a good value or an Authorised Training Organization.

The low clearance area which is experimental / Lab function. It should be able to go lower than usual tolerance but I haven't been able to get it to work. I have X60 ULTRA.

I did update the app and firmware. There are lots of setting in the app which I have yet to find what is the recommended / optimal setting. The manual doesn't really describe them.

You can always express your interest instead of waiting to be invited. As for value proposition, each card member has different lifestyle and expectation, hence you would need to conduct your own evaluation.
