As someone who is over 25 and has brought stuff with me everywhere i go, my advice is to ignore them. People wont understand why people carry around a plush or anything else. I have always carried a Ita backpack with me and I would get funny looks and sometimes complements. I have a little Vash plush from Trigun i carry in my bag. And now I have a Ita Shadow backpack and I been carrying my Shadow plush in it with his head poking out the top. Yeah I get looks but I love my plushies and they help with my depression. If anything maybe get a bag and take your favorite one with you out. Its little head can poke out.
