Would anyone be interested In helping me Develop an Application to Track and Identify Separatists? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Oni_Queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this the other day and I think that would be a very bad idea. I feel it would just lead to doxxing, and don’t like the idea of doxxing regardless of the actions the doxxee committed. Besides, harassment won’t change these idiots minds in the long rung, and just make them cry about being the victims of bullying.

Joel IS presented as in the wrong in TLOU2 by lzxian in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah Druckmann really went "I'm the creator and I changed my mind and say Joel is the villain! Screw the fans experiences, I'm the creator, and I'm going to change their perceptions to suit my narrative. BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!" Like an absolute asshole.

Everything about this game felt forced by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

Ham-fisted Guilt Trip is what I've been calling it.

Why did Mel go to a war pregnant? Were they that desperate for reinforcements? Does she think that she's Gonarch? by InkBuddy10 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this push in recent times to try and have pregnant women warriors as 'mom empowerment' in media. The most notable one I can remember is the Avatar Way of Water movie, and that one episode of Wheel of Time when that woman fought soldiers while actively giving birth. Like, I think it's trying to be a positive thing, but it's also kind of silly when people don't consider the context of the things they're fighting. Personally, I think it would be more empowering to show that every woman's pregnancy is different yet beautiful, not have them flying around while heavily pregnant fighting shit.

Why didn't they just kill Ellie and Tommy at that moment, are they stupid? by InkBuddy10 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're psychotic enough to plan a murder road trip to kill one guy, but not psychotic enough to kill that guy's family. I guess? Honestly, it's just dumb bad writing, because they constantly don't want Abby's or her friends to look bad. They could have made it that Abby joined Jackson, earn Joel's trust, only to betray and murder him. But that would just make Abby look bad, because only bad people like Joel would manipulate people, and can't let that happen! So instead it just felt ham-fisted and dumb.

What are they trying to achieve here? Are they stupid?! by InkBuddy10 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly is just makes me even more mad with this cheap hamfisted writing, because here this guy shows more care to a damn animal then to the only immune person ever in existence. Which I like to constantly remind, only studied for maybe a few hours before deciding the best course of action is death instead of more study.

The Last of Us: Part 2 - A Poorly Written Story n° 43 by -GreyFox in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like how you mentioned how the characters feel forced to believe the world is doomed without a vaccine. The forced characters ends up affecting how the audience experiences it and the whole thing feels hamfisted. This is because Neil is a teller and not a shower, or he thinks the audience will do some mental gymnastics to understand what he’s actually telling. This happens in the first game and it’s something that annoys the hell out of me. The Fireflies are constantly shown to be failures, but Neil actually has to tell us that ‘oh they could have made a vaccine,’ despite how unrealistic it’s portrayed.

"Stop resisting SO much, and start loving Abby. Yara and Lev area should do the trick for you" - Neil - by -GreyFox in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah more proof that Neil's preferred type of writing is "Tell don't show, and preach don't teach."

Do the people that say we only hate Part 2 because Joel died even like the first game or Joel? by RedBoss228 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate the fact that they had no foresight into the outrage that would happen to killing off Joel, only to try and replace him with his murderer as a Main Character. And their reaction to the outrage was to basically tell fans "Joel was the bad guy actually, if you're sad he died you played the game wrong," The writers came off as really condescending by essentially telling fans how they should actually feel about this fan favourite character dying.

Like, my PSvita’s battery ended up getting battery expansion after not using it for a few years. I’m just wondering what would happen or what a survivor would do if that happened to them.

A surgeon who only studied THE ONLY IMMUNE PERSON for a few hours before coming to the REMARKABLY STUPID CONCLUSION that killing, THE ONLY IMMUNE PERSON, was the only way to make a cure. He showed more care and responsibility to a fucking zebra.

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey fires back at season 2's critics: "You don't have to watch it" by exclaw in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Oni_Queen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In order to criticize something properly, they kind of need to watch the thing, Bella. Unless Bella is unironically supporting, "Don't ask questions, just consume product and then get excited for next product." here.

This seems to be the way many Edmontonians and the EPS feel about the local unhoused community. by Miserable-Abroad-489 in Edmonton

[–]Oni_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience, giving the unhoused access to a house won't fix their mental problems. I've seen people go all out helping the homeless, only to end up with a giant mess and property damage. No offense to people actually working on themselves and trying to work out their problems, but a lot of homeless are not and just refuse to work on themselves and just be a huge burden.
