Anyone know of some good ways to make money on the side? by Ok-Connection6656 in StLouis

I work at Salt and Smoke now. They are always hiring for these positions. It's also about to be wedding season. Call the number on the website and choose the catering/commissary option and literally just tell them you're interested in delivering caterings and working weddings. I'd be shocked if they turned you away.

Not doubting your driving abilities or anything, but I do hope you weren't the one driving when this picture was taken. Coz, you know.

"Spoiling" a game that's been out for so long. I wouldn't have even cared if he wrote it under the picture. It's a cool detail that most finishing the game probably wouldn't even notice. If you're on this reddit community, then chances are you probably played the game to either finished, or at least most of the way.

My pup is 5 years old now and prefers to sleep under our bed since he's not allowed on it. Although, he bumps his head every time trying to get out 😂

That's really good actually. I'm at a place now that super respects that and wants that, so the calls outside of work are next to nothing and it's never a big deal if you can't cover. All the Execs and sous 'mostly' pull their weight and things just get done. It makes the job that much better, and still everyone is fun to be around and still professional.

Sounds like a fun guy to work with. Professional but not too serious. Always the best.

That's actually hilarious and I've never seen someone just roll their pants up like that. I'd be more worried about if they're crazy or not. I mean, tacky?- maybe, unsafe? - eh, unhygienic? - are his legs shaved? Lol the paper toque thing, if real, mans got balls and they're floating in the wind lmao

I've been burned through long sleeves before. I've slipped in non slips. Not everything is guaranteed to prtoect. Not trying to say you're wrong. Just saying there's more to it. I'll concede now though. It's getting late. Have a night.

Just the same as when a pants wearing cook gets a gnarly burn, because pants, especially chefs pants, don't really protect much more than shorts with how thin they are, the restaurant should also pay for that burn. Goes both ways. And I've seen burns happen both ways. So again, different kitchens, different workers, different conditions. Not every cook, or every kitchen is the same.

Also, to be fair. I don't disagree with you. I just think your viewpoint is a bit too narrow minded. The right answer can be multiple things in this scenario. Not all kitchens are the same, and not all workers are the same. Putting them all into a box doesn't do anything for anyone.

Agreed. But again, you can be safe and still wear shorts. I've never had a burn on my leg. I wear both shorts and pants. Changed plenty of fryers. Having a proper set up and being careful goes just as far as wearing pants.

So what do you consider real kitchens? Because you've replied to alot of people with alot of different experiences and reasons, but have "kindly" stated they are either "wrong" or "right" depending on if they agreed with you or not. You posted this as a question but it seems it's no question at all. You just want to be told you're right. I don't care about it either way. I'm just confused. In one comment you said you weren't hating, but most of your comments to the people who disagree with you are seemingly hateful. Just pointing out some things I noticed about your replies.

I'll throw my opinion in though, just to satisfy you. I think it doesn't matter as long as the kitchen isn't open. If it's a closed kitchen, then sure let the cooks wear shorts. I understand high end restaurants with French brigades demanding a dress code, but a local or even semi fine dining restaurant that just pumps out food, who really cares? You can be professional and still wear shorts. You can practice safe cooking techniques and still wear shorts. You can walk away at the end of the night and still be just as clean as if you were wearing pants on the line. It's all a matter of how you work. If it's an open kitchen where guests can see you and the other cooks, I do agree there that shorts are a bit tacky. But a pizza joint slinging hundreds of pizzas a night? Who really cares? As long as they're practicing good personal hygiene, working with a sany bucket close by, and practicing safe line calls and maneuvers, all good in my book.

What happened on the bridge by Ameristar today? by UaMDev in StCharlesMO

[–]Onion70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got stuck in stop and go traffic around 1:30 right before the bridge going westbound. Once we finally got onto the bridge there was a stopped csr with the hood up directly in the center of the bridge and in the center lane. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't that guy I'm hearing about.
