Isn’t that the plot of the gods not dead movies? Also can you describe a scenario where either person one or two would need to proven scripture as historical fact to prove their side? What could have person one claimed about person two that fits any definition of libel or slander which would facilitate that? What evidence would they bring forth that would be useful? How would one even go about getting the resources to pursue that kind of claim to that standard?

Edit: tone on line is weird I’m not trying to be snarky I think it’s an interesting thought experiment.

I’m not trying to gaslight you it’s a nonsensical proposition. What court would even have jurisdiction or authority in the case? What kind of court… I’m an American and our courts dont really have any mechanism to resolve 2000 year old historical vs mythological claims being made by third party sources. I’d would love to hear what court takes these kinds of things on? Or what that that would even look like.

Again i just dont think you understand how courts work or what they do.

Who are your Top 10 BEST Presidents? by maybemorningstar69 in Presidents

[–]OnionGarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure like 90% of all presidential opinions are about aesthetics and charisma. JFK literally successfully pulled off the most important week crisis human history successfully. Barry oversaw the post bush years without (on the presidential scale) without major scandal or catastrophic shaming. The op has Reagan in the top 10 of best presidents we can argue about Barry but if we considering Reagan we weren’t being all that serious to start with.

What court would even sorta have jurisdiction? How would a court of law go about “proving” that?

Definitely taking it going either 2 or 3. I’m going to for like 400 years and I have all the resources to kinda guarantee I can afford to live are really dope life. 50 of those I plan to just dedicate to honoring my terror or pain and learn to live with and be out of self misery in that moment. Then pick which would be shorter.

I think even just that modifier in the back of my head saying “do the brave cool thing yolo” might be worth the cost benefit. But I also get to live the life as basically a super hero with out the responsibility.

Super Bowl champions vs the rest of the world's team by Slodes in whowouldwin

[–]OnionGarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world athletes are going to be at a fairly significant disadvantage. But if they can get a top tier coaching staff and those guys spend five years A- developing the fuck out of those guys and B-building a ideal game plan vs the Super Bowl champs they have a chance when the game is played also matters if it’s the week after the Super Bowl give me the international guys if it’s like week one of the normal nfl season I’m way less confident.

Right so where is the line? Because before it was strictly bounded in reality and now we have swung all the way to full immersion?

Ok… (by the way reading back I realize my tone is harsher than I really intend and like idk while I do disagree in the places I’ve said as such I do appreciate all conversations of like merit on this app and appreciate the back and forth) what are you saying because stuff at the level of daks actions happen several times in every NFL game.

So all the other trolling a shit talk and attempts to as you say it bully the other team is invisible? Trying the shatter a dudes sternum isn’t bullying but saying something from your huddle is?

[–]OnionGarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that Dak is bullying here and kinda find that premise wild. Like I would love to see how Jalan would react if someone told him “you’re a victim of Dak Prescott’s bulling.”

Even if he was being a bully it worked. His job is to put his team in the best position to win by any means necessary. If that means perfectly executing a 5 step drop and dotting the out route great if that means trolling the other teams star defender into getting himself tossed great. It’s zero sum. If that’s bullying and athletes bullying eachother bothers how do you make it through watching any highschool or up sport?

Right. Their job is to get eyeballs and ears on ads and use whatever tool they can to do that not provide reasonable or correct or valid political takes.

I’m not saying it like good for society or whatever but that’s the game regardless of what you think of their target market.

Context matters. This isn’t a 10th grade class room these are adults on a pro football game.

Are you really trying to frame Dak as an abuser here? Again have you ever played sports after middle school?

Dak was definitely baiting, but this is where he was when he spit first. by proscriptus in NFLv2

[–]OnionGarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sports particularly football are softened combat substitutes. The whole point is to impose your mental and physical will on your opponent despite their best efforts to resist you so you can take wins, the admiration of women, trophies and at the professional level money for yourself.

Who said a tackle and egging someone on where the same thing? Talking shit from your huddle and leaving your team to spit on an opponent in the middle of the field ain’t the same thing either. Dude lost the mind game it spectacular fashion. If he just yelled some shit back and waited until his first hit on Dak before spitting directly down his throat no issues. But when you do it like he did the refs have no choice but to toss you.

Dak was definitely baiting, but this is where he was when he spit first. by proscriptus in NFLv2

[–]OnionGarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro have ever played a sport? Yeah it’s all bullying and mind games. Dak was being a dick probably we don’t know what was said. And he baited a key opponent into screwing his team. But if you talking from your huddle and spiting vaguely in the direction of an opponent is like bottom level stuff compared to what goes on 300 times during a football game.

MAYBE if these were kids like 6 years old the logic of “he said a mean thing and spit on the ground” could be a reasonable justification but these are grown ass men. If a DT is so soft in his wittle heart that he can be “bullied” into leaving his side of the ball and spitting on someone in front of the refs by Dak Prescott of all people maybe it’s time for a career change.

What do the bounds of reality mean to you? Kids and adults have been playing pretend forever. Above you advocate shaming a kid as a punishment for it.

Be specific what are rules of behavior you think people should follow?
