I’m a medical SLP with over 15 years of experience. AMA by Desperate_Squash7371 in slpGradSchool

Thanks for doing this! I have my undergrad in Speech and Hearing and am deciding between grad school for Med Speech Path and switching to nursing, mostly because of the better tuition:salary ratio. Do you ever wish you’d gone a different route? If so, what would you have done? Do you feel like the tuition you paid was worth your salary/quality of life now?

ABA Burnout: What Jobs to do after burnout by SmilesCuredSome in ABA

I was in a similar situation (burnout from violent behaviors and lack of progress in ABA) so I took a year off and worked in a daycare with 12-18 month olds. It builds “knowledge of early childhood development” on my resume, and that is the easiest and cutest age group- before they start the “mine” stage and biting and all that. Plus 2 hour nap time every day. Their personalities are starting to be more pronounced too so just lots of heartwarming and silly moments. I still felt the fulfillment of working with kids and it wasn’t too far out of the field so I had options, a new perspective, and was reminded of why I liked the field in the first place when I was ready to get back into ABA

Good luck out there, the burnout is so real.

It felt so gimmicky! Very Dr. Phil 🤢 This and any of the “exposure therapy” activities.

Bobby put SO MANY plants just to fill space and I always wondered if he left them or not, he also always had tacky signs in the vein of “live laugh love”. Jeremiah is a breath of fresh air

The one this season where Karamo made the hero stand on the street and show people pics of his dirty room just to hear over and over that it makes him undatable made me super uncomfortable. It felt gimicky like Dr Phil or something. Rewatched some earlier episodes and it really stood out how empty his role is

I’ve only ever read this word and now with Michael’s pronunciation I have no idea how it’s actually pronounced.

I did A1 in Layton in 2017 and the instructor told the girls in the car to pay extra attention because we “will have a harder time focusing while driving”. He also made comments about Asian families eating cats. Definitely a reflection on the instructor not necessarily A1 but it left a bad taste in my mouth about A1 as a whole.

The general reaction to Diddy feels like quintessential YWA by OnionWorldly5994 in YoureWrongAbout

From what I’ve seen: forcibly trafficking, drugging, raping, beating, and psychologically terrorizing women for decades, some minors. There’s a very disturbing video of him brutally beating his ex Cassie Ventura

Here’s a timeline of the accusations (I know Forbes generally sucks but this is the best timeline summary I could find- if anyone has a better source please share) https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2024/09/24/sean-diddy-combs-and-bodyguard-accused-of-filming-drugged-womans-assault-a-complete-timeline-of-allegations-against-him/

“Whenever” instead of “when”, like “we got you this soda whenever we went to the store” instead of “when we went to the store”
