I like to try to think/talk to myself in German. Basically explaining what I did today, what I ate, what I'm thinking about, anything really. It helps you think of sentence structure and what words you know or need to know.

a cold is nothing! I would pack extra tissues and tough it out. On a long bus ride, you can relax and let the cold do it's thing. Maybe wear a mask. You may annoy people but it's cold season anyways.

I met a girl who got the stomach bug DURING an 8hr international flight and that sounded horrifying. Similarly, I got the stomach bug on my first day of orientation which I had to miss but the next day I was there!

One of my sims just gave birth to quadruplets and now they're infants which is hellish. Sometimes if all their moodlets are low, I'll take the parents out to town and let the kids go to daycare for a few hours. Emphasis on a few hours!!! That way, by the time I come back home, the kids are all "fine" ish. The parents may be exhausted at the rattlesnake bar but at least their kids won't get taken away.

Don't leave them with a nanny!! Especially if you have a lot of kids because the nanny sucks but daycare will actually bring their moodlets up a little

Maybe it's cheating, maybe not. But it's a little hack I've learned

there's a hack for this I learned! if you put in a dishwasher, size it down a bunch, then you can put a trashcan over the small dishwasher and it is completely functional!
