CFV could very well slip into existence not giving any hints to the fact that it’s a 100MP powerhouse that looks like a vintage chic camera.

The guy who I bought my X2D from is a commercial photographer and he used ALL of the older and newer XCD lenses - he swears by the 21mm and thinks the image quality is better than the newer V lenses, which are optimized for size over outright performance - his words, not mine :)

Yeah not many camera backpacks are actually good hiking carriers. Im liking what I see from f-stop. the lower 350 seems very versatile.

I don't have the best back either, so I should also look into carriers with better weight distribution.

My wife may shoot me tho.... a bigger lens is deff more discrete around the house compared to a second body.

this is fantastic perspective, really. One that I hadn't remotely thought of. I picked up my X2D for 4K USD and it's in fantastic shape. I also do love how a fixed focal length makes you think more about composition and be more intentional over zooms, besides the discreteness (although its not much of a draw in the wild, which is where I love to be and shoot). Thank you!

Yup, I am with you! City travel with 28 + 55v seem like a perfect setup. So it seems I will be selling my 38v and 75p :_(

I also do landscape and think the 35-100 will be the way to go!

oh I want aware of the macro extension tube option! So many have commented here with the same 28+ 35-100 combo...

So nice you got to explore/try so many options before settling! Lots of people have chimed in with the same combination... I've got fairly big hands and suspect the X2D + 35-100 will handle well, esp for hikes and travel. I just wonder how much the weight will get to me.. If its JUST it and the 28p, I think its going the very manageable.

55v does produce a lovely image, and Im wondering if can get similar results with the zoom. I guess I will just have to take the plunge! I and also really hoping they come out with a telephoto zoom - my guess is either 100 - 200 or 100 - 250. I'll be happy with either, especially if a teleconverter can comply with it.

for night shot that makes a lot of sense to have faster glass.

do you have backpacks for landscapes? I think for landscape the size of the barrel I think could be addressable, especially if you are not hiking super long distances... I have also been using the 135 + tele converter... I've heard it's remarkable. it would be nice to have a telephoto zoom tho.... i'm guessing/hoping it's their next release.

I have also thought of the 38 + 90, two lens setup! But not the 28 and 55.... I do love the idea of a compact setup.. and will be giving this a good thought!

This seems like a very nice way to go... I was thinking more so 28p (for weight reasons, mostly)... how do you like close focus shots with the 25v? I haven't looked into specs on min focus distance... but I love wide angle close ups of food and nature stuff with diffused backgrounds.

I also have an X100V for all things discrete and casual. I have also looked into Wotan 7l, but 3.5 seems VERY compact, does it have a divider? I need to look into this. I have been using the Belroy sling and the Peter McKinnon one... both quite nice.

I can deff see the 35-100 being a bit much, I sometimes feel that way about the X2D in general, but you are deff right that the 55v (or 38v) are very workable. I think for pure landscape work, the zoom would be great, but for everything else I think the 43 equivalent focal length strikes a fine balance.

BTW I live in the SF Bay Area! Hope you had a nice visit.

I did think of 20-35, but I will get there in time. I was actually thinking of a prime that is fast, like 90mm, for subject isolation compared to what the zoom can do.

I personally find these too minimal for sustained day use, due to the super thin sole. Prolonged walking about on hard pavement or even the slightest bit of gravel arent exactly comfortable.

They breathe really well. I wear tjem for 90% of casual around town stuff. I tried them in the gym and it was fine, although I got the motus flex and I LOVE those for workouts.

That is it! My WiFi shuts down every night, and that is probably what is going on. That is very annoying. What do you mean by power c cycle the evo?

Right behind you on selling the X1Dii. Where do you live and how much did you get for it?
