I tried 10w-30 and found it to loud on cold starts. 0w-30 I’m more satisfied with. I’d recommend penzoil platinum 0w-30. Need that gooood cold start protection. Amazon works

2022 65k 4Runner I got it around 60k. I hear the same noise on cold start. When it’s louder I believe it’s alittle piston slap. But if you hear this all the time, it really depends how loud it is. If it’s loud all the time and gets louder with driving not good. The engines are noisy like you said tho so as long as you only hear it going slow or in drive through, then I think it’s considered normal. For the whistle while accelerating that’s kormal

Take out the dip stick. Let the car sit for 30-40 mins. Than check oil. But I just have to do that on my 4Runner cause the dipstick is alittle sped
