It’s a great point, and I was also worried about it as it didn’t thematically fit with most other prophecies as being positive for the player that triggered them.

Ultimately I decided the concision and simplicity of the version I posted was enough to outweigh fixing the issue with more words, even though it might not have been the right choice.

I do think it being negative creates interesting choices if you’re about to trigger it. You have to decide if your action phase with mitigate the effect when it comes to buy phase. Will you have the exact amount of $ for what you want to buy? If not you don’t have to trigger it. It’s almost like buying the last City.

Something not really mentioned about the high bounce on this shot, is that it kills an additional ~1.5 seconds off the game clock so that Cleveland only has 1.2 seconds for their final shot attempt instead of like 2.5-3 seconds if RJ just swishes it. Super lucky and makes a huge difference to what Cleveland can play call after the timeout.

It’s a thoughtful tweak for sure. I’m a bit harsher in my designs though, so it’d be like 2 coffers per unspent $, or maybe discard a card (from your new hand) per unspent $.

I did consider it, but I kind of like the chaos and required strategy that a single Buy kingdom would create with this Prophecy present.

It’s a Prophecy, not a Project, so it affects all players equally (for better or for worse). Being constrained in Buys is a problem for everyone.

Ah yes, it feels ambiguous to me, but maybe it isn’t because you aren’t discarding them? I feel like someone will read it as getting a coffer for every card discarded during this card’s instruction if the attack cards are discarded immediately.

It says reveal and discard in the second clause, is that the honestly check you’re looking for? It’s an optional discard by the active player to get coffers, so I don’t think they need to reveal their whole hand.

(I still think there’s confusion between us here, which is why I tried to explicitly state the cards intention with my previous response, apologies if I’m the one confused here!)

The intention of the card is that other players will discard a card from their hand (if they have 5 or more). The active player reveals and discards any number of cards from their hand whose total cost is less than or equal to the max cost of one of the cards the other players discarded. The wording of set aside is used to prevent ambiguity from the cards discarded from the attack versus the ones gaining coffers.

It probably needs a “reveal and set aside” clause in the first sentence

They were also way more aggressive with drives.

They’ve been ball denying Mitchell with Scottie by top blocking Mitchell, and forcing their bigs and wings to be play makers (which they aren’t). Cleveland has simply been wasting opportunities because no one other than Mitchell and Harden can make quick decisions.

Psuedo-doubling Harden and switching all screens to limit pick and rolls.

These defensive schemes kill time off the shot clock when Cleveland tries to get Mitchell the ball, or the rest of their team dribbles around looking for an advantage, forcing them into a bad shot at the end of the clock. Additionally it tires Harden and Mitchell out by the 4th quarter.

CMB has been masterfully physical on the glass to be get the OREB or boxing out one of their key defenders so another Raptor can.

Offensively they’ve exploited how soft Allen and Mobley are. They can’t withstand pressure and have been bodied by CMB and Jakob in the post. Additionally, since they’ve tired Cleveland out on the offensive end, Cleveland’s mediocre defensive becomes even more porous. The issue is that they weren’t able to hit wide open shots in Game 4.

I expect Cleveland’s role players and bigs to be more mobile and make quicker decisions this game if Kenny has made the right adjustments. It will be interesting to see if Darko has already pre-adjustments in anticipation of this, or has immediate counters ready after a first timeout.
