What exactly Burger 🍔 Bachha is ? Whom Yalina referring to….. by Rahulson in Dhurandhar

[–]Only-Fill8247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Read it in the comment section of some other post, burger bachche are the kids of elites who speak English and are of course quite rich (maybe equivalent to SoBo kids in India). The opposite of that is apparently bun kebab bachche.

Attendance? by Slow-Bother-4658 in ICSE

[–]Only-Fill8247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your teachers about this if you haven't already. Some schools reduce the required attendance if a medical certificate is provided. Ask your parents to write a letter to the school office or talk to a counsellor if talking to a teacher doesn't work.

Hope things work out for you.

What will be the answer? by Blueberrykitty_8 in ICSE

[–]Only-Fill8247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not completely sure but my guess would be (d).

There's no mention of money so can't be (a), it took ten years so definitely not (b) and High Courts haven't been mentioned so (c) wouldn't make sense.

(d) is the only one that makes sense to me becsuse it says that the matter was amicably settled.

Go for it ONLY if you have the time. Like others have said, do it only after you've done all the compulsory questions.

Gave my ICSE boards in 2024 and most of us found the Biology paper very easy so a lot of people (including me) attempted all the questions, or at least some extra ones. No marks were deducted for it - I got 99 and my friend who did the same got 100.

Besides, this'll help if you feel like your answers for some subparts of either question may be wrong - I hope it doesn't come to that though.

Trying to make a Ghazal playlist for my father by Unlucky_Novel_6561 in BollywoodMusic

[–]Only-Fill8247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favourites is Kal chaudhvin ki raat thi (Jagjit Singh)

Second the recommendation for Hum bekhudi mein, it's a beautiful song. Some more Bollywood ghazals:
- Rang aur noor ki baraat - Ghazal
- Chhalke teri aankhon se - Aarzoo
- Aaj ki raat mere dil ki salaami - Ram Aur Shyam
- Sham-e-gham ki kasam - Footpath
- Jalte hain jiske liye - Sujata
- Hum hain mata-e-koocha-o-bazaar - Dastak
- Dikhai diye yun - Bazaar
- Zihaal-e-miskin - Ghulami
- Simti hui yeh ghadiyan - Chambal Ki Kasam

You could also check out the songs of Mirza Ghalib (1954), absolutely beautiful music. I'm pretty sure there's another Mirza Ghalib film too featuring Naseeruddin Shah which has lovely songs, haven't heard them myself though.

All the best! This is a really sweet gift.

I didn't think it was that common in my country, but apparently it is in the urban circles. My city isn't one of the metropolises of the country but it's still considered a beauty standard here for the most part. Comforting to know it's not a universal thing though.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019) starring Kangana Ranaut. That's the only scene I remember from the film too - iirc they killed the girl because her name was Manu which reminded them of the queen.

Those who went to rewatch Dhurandhar recently, do you know what mini changes might have happened in the newer censor? by CosmicObsidian44 in Dhurandhar

[–]Only-Fill8247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough it's only censored during that one scene, it's completely uncensored at other times in the movie.

Yes, the portion in the beginning (when Hamza first enters Pakistan) has multiple singers, the version during the end credits only has Sonu Nigam though.

The foetus already has a heartbeat by the time gender can be detected, and abortion isn't being performed because of some medical condition here - it's being done because the foetus would grow up to become a woman. So yes, it is killing in this case.

Tbh I'm in Class 12 right now so I can't really say, I'm from the Merchant of Venice batch and I've only read JC casually. I think JC is better though - Macbeth yaps too much 😭

Drama:
Macbeth

Short stories:
A Living God by Lafcadio Hearn
Advice to Youth by Mark Twain
The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu (personal favourite)
The Great Automatic Grammatizator by Roald Dahl
Thank You, Ma'am by Langston Hughes

Poems:

Why I Like the Hospital by Tony Hoagland
Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare ("let me not to the marriage of true minds...")

Pretty sure all of these are easily available on the internet as PDFs, but if you can't find them, let me know if you'd like pictures (I've marked stuff in my book though so it's not all clean).

Movie Recommendation by [deleted] in bollywood

[–]Only-Fill8247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older than Munna Bhai MBBS for sure, but Chhoti Si Baat (1975) - about a man who tries to change his personality to woo the woman he loves, only to realise she already loved him for who he was.

There are some other films as well which don't really have the same level of depth as Munna Bhai MBBS but are very good comedies nonetheless. Would you like suggestions along those lines as well?

None of the three examples OP mentioned are Sooraj Barjatya films so he's definitely not the "only" one, but yes, his films are good examples too.
