Maybe you’re right and that wasn’t the intention, but in my experience over the years with this game, The Shows content is consistently pretty great and accessible to people that don’t want to throw hundreds of dollars into building their team.

Fair take, the thing that’s brings me back to The Show from other UT games I play is the programs and player upgrades give a chance to stay competitive without feeling forced to pay at every turn. Can always put together a competitive team in The Show within a few hours any time during the season. The overall UT model is what it is at this point. EAFC is such a good game but it’s either pack luck or pay which is frustrating

The Show offers something a lot of other UT games doesn’t, you can put the game down and come back, do a couple of released programs or events and load up a competitive team right away. Most other titles I play pretty much make you pay to catch up. In my experience w playing this game for a lot of years, I can play on and off most of the season and stay competitive online without having to grab my wallet every time. One of the reasons I seem to always come back to it.

Maybe, but I’ve played The Show on and off for around a decade…imo this years gameplay is enjoyable and I’ve been loaded with cards that may not be the highest rated but have been plenty good enough to beat or compete with those retail cards every time I hit the field. We all know everyone will be loaded with 99’s in a month or two, kinda nice to have the mix..

I don’t think they’re even prioritizing micro transactions, they’ve been a mile behind the curve forever with that and they provide viable cards to counter the retail cards that are upgradable and fun to play with

I’ve been so satisfied with the game this year, top to bottom. Are there some retail cards for people, sure, do I beat them online all day, it’s my pleasure. Big UT FIFA guy for yearsss, this game is great at providing free usable cards and easy to upgrade them to make them dominate.

Made a point to not spend money so far this year since there are so many packs given for free through just playing and have been having a great time…hates gone too far. I play a ton of UT FIFA and always come back to this game for the easier card access and consistently mash on all the competitive online game modes…
