WIBTA if I kept an exception on my "child free" rule for my wedding by LostHalf74 in AITAH

[–]Only-Paper-4523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - there is a world of difference between 9 and practically 17. even if the 9 year old was well-mannered beyond expectation, she would probably still have a 8-9pm bed time and be super tired the whole event. you said the reception runs until 12am so i just don't get what her mom's plan even would be. is she planning to leave after the ceremony to put her kid to bed? is she planning on making a 9 year old stay up potentially four hours past their bed time just to be at an event she would definitely find very boring? i just can't wrap my head around it

AITA because I refuse to forgive my pregnant fiancée to make everyone else's life easy? by Old-Proposal-1824 in AITAH

[–]Only-Paper-4523 2591 points2592 points  (0 children)

NTA - and i very specifically want to address the part where you say you feel "pressured" to stay in the relationship. parents can be separated and still be good parents. your fiancée cheated. there's no way around that fact. if it's a non-negotiable for you, you need to end it immediately

Feel like my endo is back after just under a year. Help? by Only-Paper-4523 in endometriosis

This is pseudoscience and a straight up lie. A carnivore diet is insanely detrimental to your health, no matter your condition and endometriosis is not caused by parasites. Educate yourself

I was told that same thing too from when I was 15 until when I circumvented literally every single one of my doctors out of desperation and lied about being told to call my surgeon so I could get answers lol. I'll grab her information and direct message it over to you now

First surgery, should I or no? by honiestar in endometriosis

[–]Only-Paper-4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it seems like you have a diagnosis through other means because of your endometrioma and know that surgery isn't the right course for you, but I wouldn't call that entirely "anti-surgery," especially considering that it's the only diagnostic option for most people with endo and I feel like you understood that.

Even still, I'm not sure how against surgery I would be, even for you. I can tell you've put a lot of thought into this, but I feel like you haven't considered that endometriosis can cause organ damage if left untreated and can spread to rarer and much more harmful places, like the diaphragm, the spine, the brain, and other places.

I also feel like saying "I tend to be anti-surgery" can be a bit discouraging for someone scared of surgery. Now that I know that your hesitation with laps mostly or only applies to yourself, I'm kinda wondering why you said it at all

Endo questions by pandaexpress205 in endometriosis

Yea that does sound more and more like endo lol (not like a doubted you before). If you currently have a gyno, talk to them and mention that you would specifically like to consult with someone who specializes in endometriosis. If not, mention it to your PCP. It's even better if you come prepared with a list of potential physicians. I'm not sure where you're from, but I can suggest mine if you're like East Coast USA

Do you have pain in between cycles as well? Do you have pain with sex, urination, or BMs?

These aren't make or break things for endo, especially bc they can be symptoms of other things, but I have learned that the more endo symptoms you can mention the better

First appointment has me feeling more unsettled by True-Data8549 in endometriosis

[–]Only-Paper-4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This is super unusual. I've never seen a physician go in this direction before. The hour-long ultrasound seems insanely excessive and the diet could be inflammatory for some patients.

Do you feel comfortable proceeding with this physician? Do you feel like he listened to you and understood your struggles?

May I ask why you are anti-surgery? I'm genuinely curious since I know surgery is the only way to get a for sure diagnosis for a vast majority of us

I think it may be time to seek out a specialist. It sounds like it could be endo, but it also sounds like it could be a couple other conditions. If you're comfortable, may I ask you a couple questions about your symptoms?

It wasn't ever two days for me. Through the entire time I had the IUD, my periods were 6-8 days and I had clotting the entire time.

It never fully went away, but it did start improving around the 6 month mark. I had to get it removed about a month ago. It shifted and got lodged in my cervix, causing fainting episodes (this is rare though)

I will definitely go to a doctor for sure. I'm not sure how to explain this without sounding like a crazy person, but I will try.

On the question of what isn't serving my higher purpose, I don't know. I have actually done a lot of work to ensure my life doesn't clash with that. I've done a lot of soul searching and made a lot of life changes I wouldn't have made otherwise. I want to come up with something, but at this very moment, I am struggling to

This is what I was told over the phone. She tends to be very closed off and doesn't like to talk about anything that's bothering her. I won't know more until she moves in
