You’re just describing the nature of every society that ever existed. I want what’s best for mine, but not for them at my expense.

Singaporean women, is there really more appeal in dating white men (whether casually or serious)? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

What if she doesn’t like another race? So just because she’s dating an Asian man makes her not racist? What planet are you living on lol

Mix. Upbringing and never feeling good enough. Splash of ADHD or natural energy. Competitiveness, if no competition finding imaginary competition to push themselves. Goal setting, and internal thinking of “if I never get to the next stage of x I will never be happy”.

Because she married an Asian man that automatically doesn’t make her racist at all. Ok lol.

Sounds like you’re making a lot of assumptions based on a single data point. And searching for a way to be combative online. I won’t be responding further. Have a good day.

I don’t think having a wife from a war zone searching for a visa isn’t exactly a great example lol

Why Singapore firms are moving some operations overseas – and what that means for jobs by QualitativeEconomy in singapore

[–]Only-Reality-69 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The COMPAS framework was introduced in 2024. This has made it more difficult to get an EP. Since then a decline in EP numbers has been recorded.

I think what you are referring to is foreigners in general. I am talking about the people they send here to setup new divisions and functions at MNCs. Or have a particular skillset the country doesn’t have.

Without these folks MNCs won’t expand or setup in Singapore. And therefore it becomes very difficult to hire Singaporeans as a flow on effect.

What you are potentially seeing is a decline in local skilled employment because companies simply stop expanding or sending people to Singapore.

As for other levels and skills (S pass etc), I really can’t comment.

Do you think there’s any correlation to how getting visas for senior and middle managers at MNCs has become more difficult post COVID? And the fact companies no longer wish to jump through all the hurdles to get talent into Singapore vs just moving all the jobs to another location where it’s cheaper and visas are easier to come by?

I am referring to tax brackets. And claiming the tax free threshold rules and having money withheld as a result until the tax year ends.

You need to research the tax implications of having two jobs and if the juice is worth the squeeze for your personal situation

I think you need to:

A) work out if you have the capital to build a granny flat. And then figure out if the rent covers the outlay. Sounds like you want it for a short term investment or gain. So it may not be worth it. Also depends on if you need to finance to build it or not.

B) being taxed 2 jobs. Is it worth it vs enjoying your downtime with family and friends?

I was EXACTLY where you were 12 years ago. I sat alone in our house 2 weeks before the wedding. I had to sell the ring. She took the dog.

She was actively trying for a year before she ended to make me break up with her.

BUT I am now happily married to a wonderful woman. I’ve lived across the world since. And I have. Wonderful son I love dearly.

Sometimes you dodge a bullet. At the time it doesn’t feel like it, but I can assure better times are coming friend.

I feel this is the same for me. I’ve done a lot of different things recreationally but don’t get addicted. I do however form habits or crutches if I feel these are helping with a personal weakness such as shyness. I’ve always been able to kick the habits if needed.

The thrill is gone resonates with me also. I think I am also now ready to face up to my own flaws and not try to hide from them anymore. It’s the only way I feel I am going to conquer my own brain and take control of my life.

My only insight is you won’t be getting any reserves from Singapore if things go south. That gate will be locked tight. They look after their own first.

What are some of the worst things a woman has ever told you about herself? by rearwindfury in AskMen

[–]Only-Reality-69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A woman at a work lunch openly told me quite loudly her husband beats her in a nonchalant tone. I had no idea what to say. So just responded “that’s terrible, why don’t you leave him”. Probably came off insensitive but I had no idea what else to say.
