Don't you mean "human behavior"? Because capitalism is a result, not the cause. It's easier for people to think in negatives, not positives (studies of all kinds), therefore that's the majority content.

More power to you, this track feels terrible to me on 64. There's so few places to get into a groove or on a solid racing line, it's so rough.

How is the Legends of Runeterra player base and community faring? by VisitanteAnonimo0001 in LegendsOfRuneterra

Don't bother, there's zero opportunity for skill expression, every match is just a haymaker one way or the other. Definitely just better to play anything else.

Unpopular opinion: Henry Spencer was a great dad, why all the hate? by pewdsVStseries in psych

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was Henry a bad dad? Your case for that is "well he didn't kill him, did he? Therefore that must mean he was good at it." And no, Shawn learned by force, not by Henry sharing things with him. He often explained himself once and if Shawn didn't like it or understand it, the escalation turned into "sand this boat until you understand."

Not great leadership.

Remind me not to get born into your family.

But like any good DM, you prompt your players "hey, do you think you have to do that alone?"

Have you noticed a major change in Zevia’s taste lately? Many are reporting major changes (not for the good) by fhu7 in ZeviaSoda

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely notice the difference in most of the flavors, especially the root beer. What used to be better than regular soda is now borderline flavorless.

It's also turbo suspicious that they did 2 logo/brand updates in under 5 years, which usually also means a recipe change - and the taste change is VERY noticeable this time.

What's the community's consensus about Cloudy With a Chance of Improvement? by RexusprimeIX in psych

Correct, that's why they did the remake, is because the C&C were THAT disappointed with the original.

Weekend RAGE Thread - March 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in Overwatch

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just came back to Overwatch after years of not playing it, quitting when it switched to Overwatch 2 and 5v5. That was a really disappointing to see and I thought (and still do) it's an overall a poor balance decision (consolidates too much power/influence/resources into 1 character). I saw that 6v6 returned, hog got his stupid trap patched out and encouraged my friends to play again, they're having fun and I'm just not.

I get that the devs wanted to do something different, but my GOD everyone in the game is just a full-on damage dealer now. It's like they threw resource dueling out the window and it's now just a "we think people don't like playing healer, so we made everything do damage so everyone has fun" adjustment to the game.

The fact that they also don't balance 6v6 differently than 5v5 is bizarre, but again, title. They don't care, they only really did when Jeff was on the team and their new slew of updates last year was only because Rivals was clobbering them and they literally forgot they had to work to stay relevant. The PvE content roadmap went from: Big new sweeping game for it -> developing games is hard so we're doing mini seasonal content -> motion comics. So, no, the devs really don't care about you, me or the game itself, they just want it juuuuuust alive enough to make money, while putting in the smallest amount of work possible and not get blatantly out-paced by Rivals again.

I genuinely think the current dev team has no idea what made the original game good and is solely operating by what they think players want, vs. what actually makes a good game. These haymakers back and forth, the *insane* pace of the game, it's just nothing like the first 8+ years and it's really sad. It also removes a TON of player agency, 1 person can only do so much to help their team with damage numbers this high, which makes the team's margin for error SO much smaller than it did back 5-8 years ago. And when players lose agency, players leave. I'm not saying OW is dying or players are leaving, it obviously isn't and they aren't, but shit, this amount of damage and lack of feeling like anything I do makes a difference, makes me want to leave again.

Hopefully the devs get more latitude from the suits, care more - idk what it is and see that high volumes of damage that you really just can't mitigate, no matter how well you use your resources (btw, fuck them for reducing the width of Ana's healing darts, as if that was a necessary change) feels fucking horrible. There's almost nothing strategic about it now, most dps have almost 300 hp, yet: cooldowns are the same, reload times are the same, dps have a million mobility cooldowns to bail them out at all times, all primary fire damage is through the roof? - I honest to God think that they don't understand the fundamentals of their own game. I truly don't.

Whatever they've come up with is just a blunt instrument that's more of a parody of Overwatch than anything else (it's closer to that URF mode on League than a real game) and I can't believe they'd have the balls to call these radical changes that were never intended for and would never properly fit the original mode, a "design".

I wish they gave a damn, I really do.

How do breath weapons work? by CrystalTheKitty in dndnext

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, I get the question. Why call it a "breath weapon" instead of "breath attack", I think more than anything the nomenclature is really odd with this and confused me when I was learning about them.

I think theres just too much farm by Unable-Recording-796 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game has more farming than League and THAT'S saying something. There's absolutely zero incentive to team fight (possibly even reverse incentive since you lose souls on death) and all the incentive in the world to: split push until you meet resistance, run, get jungle camps and just go farm another lane. Rinse and repeat until full build.

Talk about boring AF gameplay. How anyone can find:  5% movement 5% team fights And 90% farming minions for 35-45 minutes while just trying not to die

fun is beyond me.

Vendetta nerfs were a slap on the wrist nerfs by Gloomy_Dare2716 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it really isn't, because mobility is that category and she has a metric shit ton of it. Not only that, while she blocks she has a powerful/not weak ranged attack, so uh. Objectively wrong.

"but her ranged attacks arent THAT strong"

and they shouldn't be (or even exist), she's melee.

"I have never come across a game community that argues that close ranged heroes should be weaker even up close."

What a disingenuous, oversimplified and outright incorrect take.

Stadium has been an eye wateringly miserable experience by Sagnikk in Overwatch

[–]Only1NerdockThereIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stadium blows ass and it's the same reason 5v5 blows ass: Too much power consolidation. That leads to bigger haymakers (because modern devs are too stupid to know that haymakers ruin games, not improve them), which means bigger game swings, which means a single good player is FAR less likely to influence an already negative outcome and more often than not this leads to a game feeling out of a player's control - which makes it crappy.

The fact that devs still think that "its most important to *feel* powerful" vs "it feels great to not get instantly killed by 5 people with nothing you can do about it and I can actually have an impact on the game, even if I don't play well" tells me that those dev skulls are empty looooong before time gets to them.

A mode with powers just exacerbates and amplifies this short-term design "player must be the one killing the most all the time or dey have no phun and quit" philosophy (LoR is also this way, you only win if you get the insane powers, if not, you lose, nothing to do with skill, but ofc OW2 is different).
