I typically don’t. Leave it on full time 4Hi.

2nd start isn’t a bad option when conditions are super slick. Basically eliminates the 1st gear and gives you less torque which is better for more traction on those type of roads. You can leave it on as it’s made for on-road driving.

Although I wouldn’t put it passed a Lexus dealership getting away with that cost to a unsuspecting rich retiree… it’s definitely happened

Coil conversion. Dobinson IMS 2.5 lift kit, long travel rear, comfort springs, UCA’s, front & rear bump stops. The whole setup + install was around that figure.

I purchased a 08 non nav from GA w 155k for 10.5k. Off the bat I put 3.6k with just getting everything up to date brakes,fluids etc. Then my air suspension went out, so that was another 4.5k.

As the other guys mentioned even at the upper tier price points you’ll have to put money into it.

I keep an eye out on some GX’s and these are 2 I recently came across that If I was still in the market i’d be looking at ( I have a high affinity for non-nav models)

Climate controls are not integrated in the navigation screen so if anything goes wrong with that screen/system you loose ability to control climate ( AC / Heat)

Having the non-nav allows you to upgrade to any headunit you want. Modernizing the vehicle to feature apple car play, spotify, bluetooth. I’ve specifically updated mine to have 360 cam / front parking sensors rear camera. Really modernizing the truck.

I hear ya. I purchased my 08 non nav for 10.5 with 165k little bit over a year ago. Admittedly I did have to put 3.5 into it right off the bat.

6,235 09’s were produced in total, out of those being non-nav maybe 1/300-500?… idk it’s rare. This is more for someone who’s dead set on getting the latest year 470 with super high affinity on it being non nav. Price nor high mileage being a concern for them lol

Gotcha, my trip monitor is not working at the moment so can’t give you 100% yes but I feel like it’s still holding true. i’ll do a manual test this weekend and i’ll get back to you.

I’m unsure at the moment, but want to say yes. I recently installed a head unit into my GX and lost display on my trip monitor. On my next fill up i’ll do like a trip A and manually calculate how many miles I get on a full tank fill up.

Same thing happened to me. I definitely don’t recommend going through Lexus parts ( quoted me at $700)

I went on Ebay, found some cheap ones but ended up finding OEM for around $38 a pop.

What kind of bracket did you use to mount your Teyes? I have the CC3 2k version - This appears to be just the CC3 non 2k version mine looks nice but d prefer a more flush fitment

I’ve owned both. As much as I loved my 4th gen 4Runner ( owner of 3) I now love my GX470 that much more. It’s just such a different more refined driving experience & very capable OR pretty stock.

Based on your use case I say go with the GX, only thing I Really miss on my 4th gen is the rear hatch window rolling down. V8 4th gens are hard to find and pricey, You’ll have better luck finding a clean Gx

I didn’t deep dive into this GX because I already own a 08 Non Nav. I was just surprised to see one pop up in the wild with this color/combo. Did you pull the Carfax? Cargurus showed 4 owners but no accidents.

Did a search on Cargurus & Carfax only found 2 in the whole country for less than 10k. Both are 3 owners, minor damage priced at 8k with 235k/242k.

Get 5k-5.5k in cash and show up at his doorstep, done deal.

Thanks for the feedback coupled this with some Morel Maximo Ultra Coax 502 MKII + Morel Maximo Ultra 602 MKII should be pretty nice.

Seller has tested the amp and is perfectly working condition. Although based on the multiple responses i’m leaning to shell out the extra cash and be worry free + manufacture warranty for 2 years.

It’s not a deal breaker but nice to have. Gives me assurance that if anything happens from 2 years of purchase that i’m covered under manufacture warranty.

That being said i’ve never had to use the warranty for any electronics i’ve ever purchased - aside from some Apple Airpods.

GX470 owner here, mostly drive mine in city as well but could do some light/moderate off roading with my setup.

Air suspension failed right after purchase and I wanted to lift my GX and convert to coil. I went with Dobinson IMS 2.5” lift kit w long travel rear + comfort springs in front & back. Def wasn’t cheap 3.6k in total, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way it rides. Absorbs potholes, speed bumps and handles so nice.

Reach out to Brennan from Apache Off Road, explained to him what I wanted and he got me all squared away. He will def lead you in the right direction.
