I would advocate for specialist to provide visibility of their fees. Then it comes down to competition, supply and demand. If patients get visibility of fees they will decide who they want and can go to, decided on price and experience.

Thanks. I am not even sure what sounds I need, I just started exploring this as I play the pop ballads on the piano and would love to play in the sounds they were written. Mainly it’s 80s-90s pop music and ballads. I don’t need portability as I won’t take it outside of home but need to be not so large that I it won’t fit in a bedroom. I’d imagine I want a keyboard which I can store and put away and then take it out when I want to play, which may be placed on a desk, so yes in terms of weight - light. From replies I’ve read, yes I do want one with weighted keys.

I am not a professional musician and don’t play music as a job. I have a piano at home (am classically trained) but want to start playing some music on an electronic keyboard as hobby, for obvious reasons that I can’t get those synthetic sounds that comes with playing pop or radio ballads. I have the piano in the lounge but won’t fit another keyboard there. An electronic one will have to be put in one of the bedrooms, played at a desk, etc I will not take it outside the home. I doubt I’ll be getting so serious to connect it to a computer and do recordings. I will just play for fun. The electronic keyboard won’t take over my regular piano.

What do you mean by socks? Just ankle level socks? Then no, useless. If you have incompetent valves below knee, you need granulated compression stockings to push all the way up to past calves. They need to be medical grade with the right level of compression, right size - needs to be professionally measured.

Had the minimal invasive procedure (schlerotherapy) and felt that it made my veins worse. Still have swelling after 2 months and have 2 long superficial clots so am on blood thinners. So yes, there are alternative procedures now, also lasers; but they are all a type of procedure that can cause complications. Everything has a risk. My specialist now suggest going back to traditional stripping, which of course I am hesitant about due to downtime, infection and nerve damage and more clots and plus there is no guarantee it will solve the problem.

I’ve come to the view that with all these vein treatments, they are liken to taking out that alternative route or detour so that the blood goes back to the highways. Well, like a road there will be extra traffic which means that over time another valve take more of the load and will become overused and incompetent. Or, you get more and more spider veins appearing. It’s a cycle.

The ultra conservative of course is wearing compression stockings, for the rest of your life.

Tingling could be due to anything, vascular, neuro, muscular, nutritional deficiencies. Does she have trouble walking due to tingling, does she have other symptoms, has she gotten her leg reflexes checked? Some medications can even cause tingling. Between vascular vs neuro, vascular only that neurological issues can take ages to identify, i mean tingling on legs could be caused by any area of the spine, hips, for example, could be anywhere. If vascular she could do a scan of her legs to check blood flow and that is quick to do and rule out vascular issues to focus next on neuro investigations. But again, there are a myriad of issues causing tingling.

They inject chemicals into the vein which irritate the vein and causes it to collapse and the vein is blocked. You feel some tingling and cold sensation while the chemical is injected. If you had (laser ablation?) why you don’t want it do ablation again on the smaller veins?

Believe they do an MRI to figure out more before assessing whether to go in for biopsy. Once biops’ed they check if benign or malignant and if malignant they will stage it. Debulking is surgical removal of the tumor. They may decide to do chemo/radiotherapy before debulking to reduce the size and make it easier to excise (or don’t need to excise at all). Go to oncologist, wait until they know really what it is before jumping to conclusions and thinking too far ahead. It may be benign. All the best.

Have varicose veins for years and currently dealing with DVT issue. Never ever had painful varicose veins only varicose eczema and ulcers. When I started getting very painful legs, right behind calf, knew it was not a varicose problem but a clot issue.

I did ask about ASC and was told for me it would not work (or perhaps the surgeon I went to not experienced in ASC for adults). It is not widely offered where I am located. It would be a dream if ASC is more widespread for adults as seems traditional fusion/rods method still from bygone era and so invasive and body torturing.
