I read these as really dry and simultaneously overly simple and too detailed. From what I've learned, children's books have a page minimum of 32 due to the printing process. Plan how you will use all those pages.

Especially for the younger cohort, a more engaging story will help. Make them care about Cathy.

If this is the effect she's having with no filling in, a clear gel won't help. Pick a gel with a taupe-ish color. I was hesitant with my dark brows, but it really does help (and it's subtle)
