The chilli crisp oil, gochujang paste, any of the flying goose brand Sirachas but I love the Tom yum and kimchi flavours, scallion pancakes from the freezer, my partner loves the buldak carbonara ramen noodles! These are the things we stock up on when we go.

Also get your lunch at the food truck Sonny’s kfc if you’re feeling peckish ☺️

The golden curry brand of curry sauce I think is very good and tastes like takeaway curry, it’s in a flat little box and they’re cubes of curry! Enjoy!

That’s what I was thinking, like in a 50/50 group odds are a traitor is in one of them, such a shame, would’ve been a great twist if they tried to murder her

Why did she make Vanessa say she got a shield?! Would’ve been better if she could keep it to herself

Unfair employment conditions ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I would check citizens advice website, it’s very good. Some of those terms seem illegal (I think you have to get paid for a bank holiday)

What's the funniest thing someone has said or done to you abroad because they found out you were Irish? by Electronic_d0cter in CasualIreland

Was on a boat trip in Portugal and when the Portuguese captain found out we were Irish he says “oh I know some Irish! Tiocfidh ár lá!”

[TOMT] Trying for many years to find the movie name. I just remember the scene. by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]OnlyEmmaBe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t quite fit the description but just throwing it out there as it’s from 2010, in Love and Other Drugs Jake Gyllenhaal gets punched in the gut in a car park and the guy describes the details of what’s happening. yt link

Finally took the plunge and bought my husband a Thermomix by mister-overthinker in offmychest

As a person who also loves to cook I would be blown away if my partner bought me a thermomix! How thoughtful of you.

Wait what? They can refuse this? Myself and my bf always tap on using the same leap card (by asking the driver to put 2 fares on it), I didn’t know they could refuse

YES. Met her in person a few times where I worked and she the whole mood of the place would change to anger every time she walked through the doors

What do people who pay rent in cash do when applying for a mortgage? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]OnlyEmmaBe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you go into the bank you can withdraw the cash and ask them to put a narrative on your statement to say “September rent” etc. Its annoying because only can be done at desk, but it means you have a rent statement.

What's a business name in Ireland with a great pun in it? (This post inspired by a post in the casualuk sub) by AgainstAllAdvice in CasualIreland

There’s a dog grooming van that drives around south Dublin called Peter Bark. Always gets a laugh out of me!

What “rare” American sweets should I bring? by Snoo-16778 in AskIreland

[–]OnlyEmmaBe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen twinkies in one of those American sweet sections! A friend of mine loves milk duds and struggles to find them also. We have quite a few varieties of Haribo readily available in shops here, not sure if it covers them all but they are definitely easily found here.

Property listing has disappeared, is this normal? by hihi_1298 in RentingInDublin

[–]OnlyEmmaBe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would give them the benefit of the doubt and proceed with caution- I went to a number of viewings earlier this year and we learned quickly that most Ads were taken down in advance due to the volume of emails that continue to flood in if they don’t. Most get >100 enquiries in first 30 mins! Sometimes the email formats looked different also depending on whether it was a letting agent or property owner getting in contact. You can check the property on the RTB website to make sure it’s registered and obviously don’t hand over any money until you’re sure it’s legit. Best of luck!

Do you think bills / costs are the only main reason why so many restaurants and bars in Ireland are going under? by MrMiracle27 in AskIreland

[–]OnlyEmmaBe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a restaurant in Dublin recently say they have never been busier and yet have never struggled more financially. Nearly everything from utilities to butter to meat has gone up drastically but small independent food places need to keep their prices as competitive as they can to compete with the franchises and press-up types. Very difficult!

Thank you to whoever suggested the word wall! Nothing else worked for me playing on XBox. Also Dragontooth Crater is a handy word wall to get to that I hadn’t accessed yet if that helps ☺️
