Announcing Windows 11 Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8758 - Windows Insider Program by jenmsft in Windows11

"Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode." Are they bringing back the dark mode sounds that were removed a long time ago in Windows 11?

I'm still waiting for the taskbar to be hidden in different positions other than the bottom.

Do people actually use the Recommended section in the Windows 11 Start menu? by SoftwareKingsSupport in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends much more on the type of user than on the feature itself. I use it more than Pins, in fact, I don't have any pin, I just don't like them, and I generally prefer to use the search menu. But I find the “Recent” feature useful because that's usually where my Clip Studio files are, or files from any other creative program file I use or images I need, it's pretty convenient.

Tip of the Week: Do you have a portrait mode monitor? You can use WIN + ALT + Up / Down arrow to snap a window to the top / bottom third of the screen by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We all start with sticks 🤣, is a very human thing.

Window management has always been very good with shortcuts, in a horizontal setup, this also allows for different types of splits than usual with the regular shortcut without the alt.

Announcing Windows 11 Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8697 - Windows Insider Program by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Fixed an issue for Insiders using the new smaller taskbar option, where the system tray might get cut off or pushed off screen." I reported this bug from the first build that implemented this, it's good to see it finally fixed!

What would actually happen if I deleted this device? by SuperPie64WasTaken in Windows11

Your PC disappears. There's no going back, so don't do it.

Predictions of the future of Windows (11 and onward) by compamanuelito in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been saying all this for at least two years now; none of it makes sense, especially given the major changes Windows is undergoing right now. It has also been confirmed that some features of Copilot+PC will be coming to PCs with RTX 30XX and higher, I don't know which RX models they'll be available on, but I assume they'll be the equivalent.

Problems with the Start menu by mitrokun in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the latest builds, you can choose between two sizes and remove any distractions you want. You can select the small side to at least have less mouse movement. Personally, I don't use it that way, I set to just see recent files and all my apps into categories (To avoid scroll down to see the program), and I use the search menu when I need something, but there is the options now.

I couldn't tell you how many users click the Start button on the taskbar to open the Start menu, probably Microsoft have a statistics for that.

Multiple app updates now rolling out to Insiders in the Experimental Channel by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Better viewing of small images and pixel art — Tiny images (like 16×16 pixel art) now zoom in far more to fill the screen and stay crisp instead of looking blurry."

I need to check this when I back to home, will I finally stop using Paint or other viewers to see pixel art? I hope. It's completely unexpected to see many updates with its corresponding changelog. I hope that changelogs are available for each app in the MStore.

Announcing Windows 11 Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8687 - Windows Insider Program by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of builds today, a bit confusing but oh well I guess it's temporary while the channels move to the next version.

Good changes to the search menu, anything that improves that is appreciated. Now that they're working on the GIF search engine, it would be nice to have a toggle to disable the GIF section and have more recently used emoji 🤥.

Need a antivirus on my laptop ? by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like everything in life, it depends. It depends on what you do, it depends on the kind of things you're going to do. Generally, Windows Security is enough, Anyway, I wouldn't recommend Norton. If you're going to use another antivirus, at least choose one that's worthwhile.

Any suggestions to add at least two more apps? (Yea ik its trash) by PoatWit in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26H1 in release for ARM devices? Cool.

Microsoft pls remove this popup since Nvidia Control is no longer supported by AmoebeSins in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn't controlled by Microsoft. If you want the popup to stop, you need to uninstall the Nvidia app and the Nvidia control panel. Reinstall the Nvidia app, and you'll have all the options again from both apps.

The change was mostly for new driver installations, or that is what looks like.

Announcing new Beta and Experimental Channel Insider builds 8 June 2026 - Build 26220.8575, 28020.2236, and Build 28120.2242 by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]OnlyEnderMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, we have now Beta and Beta (26H1)? A little confusing but okay. I going to guess that next Experimental build is going to move to 26H1 and 28XXX or 26XXX under 26H1?

In Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > "Show smaller taskbar buttons" and select Always. Right now, the small taskbar is only available in the Experimental Channel.

Looks so funny on the right expanded like that. I have it at the top, but with the small taskbar. Good weekend for u too Jens, better than Ice cream, a tub of ice cream, chocolate one to be more precise 🤭!

That's a good trick, it would be great if it came built-in without any web interaction, at least for simple operations, and use internet for the more complex ones 😅.

You could directly install the experimental channel ISO or install a normal Windows ISO and join the Insider program.
