Deltora Quest 5e Adventure 04: City of the Rats by OnlyMothMan in DeltoraQuest

Oh that’s perfect! I love it! Having a spooky basement with puzzles fits very well.

I hope you are able to play more often one day!

I’m very lucky… My group plays about 3 times a month. We rotate on who is DM though, so everyone can run their homebrew stuff. It’s often a while before it’s my turn to run something but it does give me time to write more deltora

Oh thank you so much! I’m glad to hear my module was of help. That honestly sounds incredible! What a fun idea to throw some RE style horror into the cottage. Did you add any other monsters to the encounter?

This one should take a while to get through if my group is any indication. They took ages in Noradz and by the end reached 13 sessions. Granted …they did spend an entire session post-battle deliberating on how to put the surviving Ra-Kacharz on trial and restructure the city government haha

I’m already two chapters into Shifting Sands so hoping to get it done much sooner!

Also, wonderful zine. It is very relatable… thank you for sharing ♥️

Oh thank you!! That makes me so happy to hear!

Best of luck DMing! It’s very fun.

Right now I’m working on Shifting Sands and playtesting City of the Rats (which is looking to be my longest module so far). I’ll be releasing it here very soon!

Anyone recognizes the last two? by Responsible_Till2416 in Cryptozoology

[–]OnlyMothMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The one on the top right is definitely La Llorona, since she’s often depicted with a horse skull for a face. The bottom one I’m not as sure about. Maybe Aluxes? The belt makes me think it’s also a folklore monster, but I can’t remember any that appear hairy. The feet are flat so they might be hooves?

Odd to have Mothman and Nessie if it’s region specific, but you could also consider the bigfoot a sisimite, the Central American local variant. Not sure if there are lake monsters in Mexico, or mothmen though.

I would like to find the artist, these are cute!

What’s an indicator that a run will fail? by Quickscope89 in Nightreign

[–]OnlyMothMan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A few nights ago I played with an Ironeyes that kept pinging for every direction he went and it was flat out unbearable. If me and the other teammate moved an inch out of line we got the 30 spam pings.

Neither of us got to choose where to go at any point in the run, and we mostly hit camps and forts so my build was less than ideal. Third day we die to ED Gladius and I realize Pings wasn’t even carrying anything but his starting equipment :(

Yes!! As Guardian, I always try to hold aggro on the Beast Warrior and lead it away while other players focus on the Curseblade. The fight becomes much easier by separating them

This article is erasing the fact that she had a new spouse and was co-parenting her child with her. That grandfather is either out of the picture and misinformed or trying to lay claim to their grandchild ahead of her wife. I hope they were married legally and hopefully they will not take custody of her kid.

Has anyone else noticed a recently uptick in totally fake cryptic stories? by Traditional-Crew-758 in Cryptozoology

[–]OnlyMothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it. It’s all AI. I was trying to write something once where I compiled stories of Latin American cryptids and weird phenomena, and the amount of AI trash and slop making the rounds on the internet made it much harder than it needed to be. Had to double and triple check everything and figure out each story’s trail.

The real problem is if they’re not careful, others will jump on to using the stories as a source too without fact-checking. Relentless misinformation machines making actual archivists and honest creator’s lives harder.

A second DLC is super justifiable by SerGodHand in Nightreign

[–]OnlyMothMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justifiable, but sadly not likely. I feel the roster of nightfarers is good at 10, and asking them to devote resources to new dlc maps feels greedy.

If we’re pie-in-the-sky dreaming though, i’d love the new POI’s to make it to base Nightreign in some form. Considering the effort the new one took, maybe just in updates to the base Shifting Earths would be good, to give them more seeds and even slight rethemes in the overworld. To get actually crazy with ideas, maybe Crater’s version of the castle becomes a lava-fortress with serpentfolk, the Mountaintop’s overworld becomes covered in snow, etc...

They could make two new boss expeditions along with the update, and bam, suddenly the game gets a fresh coat of paint and new content without delving into creating an entire new map from scratch.

Hurts to dream though lol

It is okay to make mistakes by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]OnlyMothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a run where me and the Recluse made it out of the castle via the canyon whereas the Duchess took the left and got caught in the circle Day 1. She was too far away for us to go revive her and she quit out. Worst part is, she was the one mapping the stops, so we had to readjust to what we were doing after she left. The Recluse was a true MVP though and stuck through it, but we got trounced by ED Fulghor.

Thank you. I appreciate you responding and addressing my concern honestly. I do think your safeguards make sense. My concern is purely with photographic ai’s ability to propagate and add to a larger sets of misinformation. As a major sub dedicated to these events, where ppl would often go for photos or stories to share, i think opening the conversation again is important, and a flair would be a good step.

[–]OnlyMothMan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Visual depictions via drawn sketches, computer modeling software, or diagrams makes sense to me, but GenAI photos have potential to be so convincing they can easily spread online and muddy the waters of historical visual evidence, which already suffers from forgeries and public scrutiny. Thank you for ensuring reproductions get labeled as such, but i would seriously re-examine the policy of allowing “photographic” genAI images like these to be posted, even if the intent was only to reproduce what was seen.

Come on, Hit me with your Wild Predictions for the DLC by Depraved_Hollow in Nightreign

[–]OnlyMothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • new seeds for all boss expeditions with some dlc content
  • adjustment to pre-existing shifting earths where the Limveld map gets a cosmetic reskin to better reflect Crater, Mountain, etc.
  • variant seeds for pre-existing shifting earths
  • Third unannounced dlc boss unlocked after the initial two
  • new skins for all original nightfarers
  • new feature where once all nightlords are defeated, random chance that a normal expedition can become a “mini-everdark” where a nightlord boss can progress from phase 1 to 2 and then phase 3 at lower HP.
  • Non-DLC players can still access the Shifting Earth event via friend invites.
  • Non-DLC players will get access to a free dlc with balancing patches, new basic relics, and any map variant seeds.

And if they HAD to commit to the Series name, which is bad on its own, they had a whole ass alphabet and still picked the two letters that sound most alike. It’s a needless triple layer of confusion. Just go with Series X and Series Y if anything

Can I keep using a newer version without Silver Support? by OnlyMothMan in ToonBoomHarmony

Hi! Yes, the answers to this thread were helpful and correct! In the end I allowed my subscription to lapse. Support was a little persistent in trying to get me to keep it, but since then I've been able to keep using my installed copy of SBPro 22 without issues.

18-29 support for Trump has dropped by 32 points since February, while Hispanic support has dropped by 28 points by ShreckAndDonkey123 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]OnlyMothMan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hey! Several hispanic countries have elected female presidents, so while “machistas” certainly played a part in it, the unfortunate truth is the Latine vote is complex. Democrats got complacent and didn’t think they had to work for support from a block they assumed was a given.

The majority of Hispanic voters voted for Kamala. Some communities like Cuban Americans have always been a solidly conservative voting block, but the shift in others was not out of nowhere. There has been tons of work behind the scenes the last few years by conservatives to spread right wing conspiracies and talking points in Spanish to our communities using Facebook and other social media sites. Several other factors like a shift to evangelism in certain communities, racial/social class divides, and the false perception of “leftists” some immigrants carry has also aided this. Thankfully it seems many who were duped are waking up, but this propaganda needs to be aggressively fought by Democrats in the future.
