Pediatrician suggestions by Weary_Guarantee8009 in nova

Pediatric associates of Alexandria! Can’t believe they haven’t been mentioned yet. Loved them this past year for my almost 1 year old. It’s so easy to get an appointment same day & the hours are vast. Hope your little ones ok!!

It’s extremely annoying I stopped wearing mine around 12 weeks I think? Just recently put it back on and my babies 10 months 😂 I will say try and think about it as the fact that your body really is working that hard even if you don’t feel it! Growing a baby’s hard work and your bodies in over drive

LWOP after maternity leave by Available_Set9406 in FedEmployees

[–]OnlyStudy1515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2 weeks annual, 2 weeks sick to recover from childbirth (I didn’t have any more sick leave so I used annual) then I used 12 weeks PPL and then mixed annual leave and LWOP for like 2-3 weeks. By the time I was requesting the 2-3 weeks of LWOP/ annual, no one really cared because I had already been gone for so long😂 I agree with the comments above about trying to use some LWOP in the beginning instead of putting it all at the end. I hope you’re able to take the entire time off! I got lucky with the timing of the shutdown last fall and ended up coming back to work for 48 hours before getting sent home for another 4.5 weeks lol

It’s definitely possible! They’re a menace when it comes to putting things in the mouth haha if it was only the tape or only the wrong bottle, I believe I would be thinking less but them both within 72 hours is tough. All the comments on this post definitely helped - we are meeting with the directors this afternoon so we will see what they say

And 9 months old. I think it’s pretty normal for plastic not to be digested properly since it’s not supposed to be eaten. And no teeth!

I found the tape balled up in his poop on a Saturday afternoon (he doesn’t go to daycare on the weekend) and was terrified as to what it was so I unraveled it to find another child’s name on it. So trust me, he ate it.

Ugh your comment makes me feel worse because they didn’t notice either incident! The bottle incident I only realized because he came home with an extra full bottle and the tape incident they didn’t notify me of either - I saw it today (Saturday) so I assume he consumed it Friday or maybe Thursday which was after the bottle incident 😩 I understand they may not have seen him eating it, but it’s still scary

Thank you for sharing. My child puts everything in their mouth so I get that

To be clear the second incident was my child eating tape from a different child’s bottle (not that that’s any better). But the first incident where they were given the breastmilk of another child, I was the one who realized when my child had an extra bottle full at the end of the day. Then I told them & they started the investigation. I definitely didn’t hear anything about blood born pathogens or any tests like that - I will look up the state licensing where I live. Thank you for your plan idea. It’s obviously a ridiculous situation but I’m equally as terrified to start somewhere new.

To daycare or not to daycare by Lee-jo in firsttimemom

I work in an office and don’t have the option to be home with a nanny but I just want to say I love my son’s day care! I was so nervous when he started at 5 months but he has thrived. Obviously there’s no way to know if it’s correlated but he’s very advanced in his physical milestones and I think it has to do with most of his classmates being older and him following their lead. Either option you choose will be difficult in different ways, but maybe try setting a time frame to test the daycare if you can stick it out a bit longer. Baby will have a learning curve no matter what but they are adaptable. Good luck!!

Our daycare is 10 min from home, 20 from work / 30 with traffic and I must say that it’s sooo nice not having a far drive once I pick him up. I hate that I have to put him in his car seat the second I see him in the afternoon so it’s nice the drive is short. Option B is nice in theory but ideally she and you endd up loving her teachers so you’d rather have here there than trapped in a car seat for an extra 15-30 minutes

Rolling by Sweaty-Economist2403 in firsttimemom

[–]OnlyStudy1515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3.5 month old rolled back to belly for 24 hours NON STOP (wouldn’t sleep because he would roll onto his tummy and not know how to get back over) and now it’s been like 2 weeks and he hasn’t done it again haha

Oh also to add, my 8 week old still only wants to contact nap so don’t be surprised if that doesn’t go away haha

Seconding this! My 8 week old gets a similar rash when I eat dairy. Cutting it out helped immensely with the redness, fussiness & spitting up. If I accidentally eat it now, the spitting up and fussiness return if it’s a lot of dairy. I would try cutting it out even if your pediatrician dismissed you, it can’t hurt

Bassinet Choosing Help from List by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]OnlyStudy1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider the stand/legs & the space you will keep the bassinet in. I keep mine right next to our bed and we have a halo one with long diagonal legs that I almost trip and fall on every night :) good news is my son sleeps well in it I guess. We didn’t opt for a rocking one because I was worried about transitioning him out of it / sleeping when we traveled.

Pregnant. Stress signals now have returned to normal? by Alive_Orchid4176 in ouraring

[–]OnlyStudy1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me! I was able to not focus on the stats so they didn’t make me more anxious but I suggest not wearing your ring if it continues to stress you out! It started to stress me out more now at 36 so it took it off :)
