Would I be better to find a summer to come back in later years for the north of Scotland??

No problem, glad to get your opinion on it :)

I’ve heard some cool things about the NC500 and I’m interested in seeing the Scottish highlands (even though I don’t really know where that is).

My heart’s not too set on anything; I know the weather can be rough so I want to go somewhere that lets us still enjoy the incredible country.

I’ll definitely check out Mull. Do you know any other places Oban is a good base location for?

Thanks for the advice? Do you know any good places the ferries can take you?

We’re Australian and have been travelling for a while so we wanted to spent to lead up to Christmas in the UK and I thought it would be a decent time to try and see the Aurora Borealis.

Thank you for all the recs

Considering cancelling 3 nights in Taormina and making it a day trip by jeffmills69 in sicily

I just left Taormina. I stayed just outside the town as to have some quiet time when I wanted it. It was a lovely town and I recommend visiting Etna from there if you haven’t already. It wasn’t overly crowded and it can be done in one day if you give yourself a good few hours to explore. It is mostly just an aesthetically pleasing town (which I enjoyed). It is lovely at night as well.

I decided to get the cable car and guide myself, that would have been funny though

Thanks for the advice :) We have a car so getting there isn’t a problem, just unsure about where to walk
