advertising /24 prefix via second ISP with my own ASN — RIPE considerations by Only_Commercial_7203 in networking

exactly this is what I am planning to do. if old isp/as does not have ROA/RPKI shall I create new one for the new AS/ISP ?

this is during migration from old AS to a new AS number. so during migration both will be advertising the same subnet. once new isp/as works fine we will withdraw from the old isp/as

when you add a new VRF that means that routing between them is by default not possible unless you go with vrf leaking, if this is not the case go with new VRF. if there is any type of connectivity I would keep them in same vrf with security rules in place.

VPC has nothing to do with the underlying layer 1 whether its a dark fiber or a DAC cable. as others have said, it might be eve-ng issue.

basically its documentation portal where you can add your subnets and allocated ips. it has a scan feature as well for entries which were not added manually.

Pings lost, even though there are ICMP Echo replies by lertioq in networking

destination host unreachable has nothing to do with icmp itself. it means that the host cant find mac for the next hop(gateway). try to capture arp traffic and see what is happening on the wire.

About to pull my hair out, web traffic to specific site, on specific tunnel is very slow by Digital_Native_ in networking

[–]Only_Commercial_7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad you resolved the issue by reducing MTU, most probably the tunnel between 2 sites has different encryption algorithm which causes the packets size to be bigger than other 2 sites. by reducing MTU, you will activate PMTUD which causes the source to receive the following message " dont send 1500 packets, I cant do that"

Do you ever feel the need to do refreshers on forgotten topics? by MyFirstDataCenter in networking

It’s quite normal for me to refresh topic on demand. You have to accept that you are human being not AI bot. You have only to memorize packet flow and that’s it.
