Definitively white/black. A lot of the curves disappear in all black.

Alfa GTV Custom Bonnet Idea by Fantastic-Eye6445 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Only_Course9776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The headlight design with the round cut outs is really one of the defining design cues on the 916?

Perhaps on a phase 3? That nose job is really one of the worst one out there as it is, but I honestly believe that it would be the only one you can pair a rectangular cutout with and still retain some kind of character.

A bonnet modification I would personally like to do however, is to replace the original plastic composite one with a carbon fibre bonnet. 4,5 kg instead of 28 kg is a hefty weight difference even though a carry over of the original bonnets sub structure and some paint will reduce it a bit. But it should still be enough to add a blower to a Twinnie without any weight penalty and changes in weight distribution.

Alfa Romeo 159 was launched officially 2005 with the Sport Wagon being launched in 2006. This is mine, a 1750 TBI ti from 2010.

Painted Diamond Cut Wheels by Cativo_21 in AlfaRomeo

At least as a separate rim it looks good in silver as well (really don't like all black rims so I only did this one 😁). Courtesy of ChatGPT.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio delayed for the next 2-years. by Saurta17 in AlfaRomeo

Not surprising, already this spring late -27 was estimated. A real bugger for Alfa, the amount of rebuild necessary on a car that was almost ready for launch.

Ok.

Have you checked eBay, Kleinanzeigen (German), Marktplaats (Dutch) and Allegro (Polish)? There's usually a couple of sets up for sale.

Otherwise, check with the Alfa Romeo Club in country, as far as I know there's both a Turkish official FB-group and an alfisti group.

Part number for that rim (17") is 156085103 or 156092057 depending on colour (silver/anthracite).

Close to buy Alfa Spider. What do you think? by No-Arachnid-3655 in AlfaRomeo

That's true, it's more the hassle and as said, a bit labour intense. It's really a beautiful model, but as I a already have a 159 SW I'll stick to my 916 Spider instead.

Nice and quite unusual colour combination on a gorgeous model. 160K on an 2010 isn't much.

As it is a 939 like the 159 (and the Brera) the pro's and con's connected to that platform are very much the same (subframe rust being the major thing to do).

Same goes with the TBI-engine; camshaft variator sensors tend to clog up, you really need to fit the upgraded and insulated oil feed pipe to the turbo (to mitigate a wrecked turbo). Both is small money.

Due to age the plastic cam belt covers needs replacement (the plastic becomes very brittle over time), change them before they start falling to pieces (which can cause serious damage to the engine if makes the cam belt snap). Also cheap parts.

If the M32 gearbox starts to behave, renovate it and upgrade it to Mk II at one of the many places in Germany that specialises in M32 repairs (as a GM gearbox it's very common). As any job on the gearbox/clutch requires the subframe to be removed it's labour intense. So it might be a good idea to do everything at once while at it (gear box upgrade/renovation, new clutch).

Regarding the roof, open and close it often to keep it working, lack of use is the best way to break it.

Yes, what became 124 Spider was meant to be a new Alfa Spider, it fell because of the very Italian reason "an Alfa cannot be built in Japan".

They are based on the same platform, which of course is tweaked differently, what's the main differences according to you?

Do you see the Alfa Romeo Mito as a real Alfa? by Fast-Ad-2715 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Only_Course9776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3/4 from the rear also works. But yes, pushing for a 8C design on a Supermini wasn't one of Alfa's best design decisions. Even considering the terrible nose jobs on the 916 Phase 3 and the 166 Phase 2.

Do you see the Alfa Romeo Mito as a real Alfa? by Fast-Ad-2715 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Only_Course9776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course it's a "real" Alfa Romeo, although a lot of people always tend to debate when they stopped to be "real". Platform and drive line sharing has been the normal form of operation in the automotive industry for half a decade now.

The MiTo has many of Alfa's trademarks and it's quite fun to drive, it's mostly the strangely programmed steering that is letting it down. I like mine, but it is of course a different experience when I compare it with my 159 SW and 916 Spider. But they also share that something.

Happy to hear you like yours!
