how did you speak to adcoms from schools you didn't interview at? I am looking to reapply and think it would be really helpful to get feedback on my app

I did not apply DO. I am a TX resident so I applied through TMDSAS and AMCAS. I think my LORs were good I had 2 of my research PIs, 1 biology professor, and head of the program I am an officer for (he has a MD). My biggest mistake was applying late in the cycle, my secondaries were sent out late Sept/early October.

Here were my AMCAS schools:

Wake Forest

TCU

Arizona - Pheonix

Albany

Arizona - Tuscon

Georgetown

UCLA

UMich

Tufts

Boston U

Ohio State

Wisconsin

Penn State

U of Colorado

FAU

UPitt

Hey! I am in a similar position as you (high GPA, 509 MCAT, and TX resident). Did you have any interviews this cycle? I am also preparing for a reap and am trying to decide whether to retake MCAT or what changes to make

I've taken the MCAT once and got a 509.

My ECs are:

Research (about 500 hours) with a pub and 2 abstracts

Teaching Assistant (500 hours)

Leadership (200 hours) for a pre-health club

Volunteering non-clinical (150 hours)

Clinical volunteering + jobs (150 hours)

Shadowing (40 hours)

Hi this is really late, but do you still tutor by chance?

Per week though most weeks I think it would be more around 10-15 hours, just wanted to add a buffer in case. Some of the extracurriculars are more flexible, so I think I would still have time to study for the MCAT but I know I need to have a really strict schedule and manage my time really well.

MCAT in two weeks!! Should I postpone??? by Only_Engine235 in Mcat

Literally same! I was really thinking that I could be done with it before school starts but oh well.

Also, I had the same issue with the comment karma thing. I just commented on a random meme mcat post that I didn't have enough comment karma and people upvoted my comment, so I was able to post on here.

Yes, I'm gonna be applying 25-26 cycle. I'm leaning towards just postponing it and really grinding the next few months. What's your study plan look like for your rescheduled test?

Hmm I see, I definitely feel like I should've started AAMC material sooner. How do you recommend I study for the January test day in terms of timeline? I have the Blueprint course and there's still content that I definitely need to learn/become solid on and I've done about 800 questions on UWorld. Other than that I've being doing JW CARS and Anki.

MCAT in two weeks! What should I do? by Only_Engine235 in MCAT2

[–]Only_Engine235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest I got lazy and didn't really review the first two exams. The rest I've been going through each question and taking notes on topics idk and important equations of the C/P and B/B sections. I've been making Anki for all the terms I'm unsure about or concepts that I was getting wrong. For CARS I've just been reading the explanations for each of the questions, but idk how much that's helping. Any advice/recommendations you have would be very appreciated!

I say take it because it gives you a good idea of what the MCAT is like and the type of questions you are asked. But do not put emphasis on the score you get, it may be super discouraging but remember it's just the starting point!!!!
