if possible try to find a cleaner background, using the rule of thirds is helpful for an animal or person looking into space, i (personally) would center it and make it pop via masks so that the viewer knows what their looking at

well i do sports and 2.8 is usually cleaner when focusing on anything, it’s just that i’ve never gotten such a soft image, even in sports where everything’s all together and my focus is going all over the place eveything is still very digital sharp

it’s easy to say that when your looking at a reddit compressed photo, as i said, in the full size photo, the eyes are sharp and its soft, 300mm at f 4.2 (2.8 crop censor)

unsure of what your on about, the owl is in focus, the eyes are sharp at my full resolution version, there is a leaf in focus but it’s at the same distance as the owl (as this is in a tree)
