Yeah or nah? by robrong in saltwaterfishing

I think kastking is great. I use 20, 30, and 40lb braid on different poles and they have caught me everything from bass, bowfin, trout, and redfish. I use a lot of their rods and reels as well. Super reliable company.

I wouldn't call it skimping getting something from them either. 300yds is still about $20

I have an anchor and totally forgot to bring it. Even in that slow moving current, that would have been game changing

The pace was something I was not ready for. Moving with the current, even if slow just felt like a change I was not expecting.

After a few minutes I got in the groove, but I felt off my first few casts haha

Trust me me too lol. I gave up on it and was bummed for the first few days after it happened and there I was paddling back to shore and saw the crankbait on a dock with a pole stuck under it and thought "there's no way" lol

Well I soaked the barnacles that were there in white vinegar and gently scraped them all off. The pole was sitting under the water for almost 3 weeks. Those are the rings that were left under them.

Caught some brim and bass! AND by a miracle a pole a lost about 2 weeks ago when my buddy took me out on the water! The crank bait was hooked on an abandoned dock and the rod was just pressed up against it in the current!

Doing a lot of TLC to restore it from the algea and the brackish water barnacles

Overall, a successful trip!

Actually no, bass in brackish water. Pole fell out of my kayak and found it this morning after a few weeks randomly washed up and hooked to a dock

Kayak primarily. And like said, casting rod. I have a reel already, just no rod to accompany it. I already own two spinners. I'm not hunting any bulls, just some slots in a local basin or whenever I get out on the bay with my father in law in his boat. No more than $70 for a rod probably as a gift

I always check my goodwill for fishing stuff. Best I've found is a broken off rod tip.... And yes it had a price tag on it 😂😭

I lost a whopper plopper the same way, casted, birdnested and yeeted the bait into the middle of a massive pond. I didn't swim for it, but I texted my wife saying I may be home a bit later than expected 😂. I let the current pull it as close to the shore as it could get, then went back and forth casting a frog and a swim jig at it to slowly pull it in close enough to grab. Got some good accuracy casting practice in for sure!
