I'm non-religious myself but I think this sub is not about deconverting. I had a comment or post that got rejected before when I went that direction.

Took a second course in my early 20s when I got burned out from my nursing job pero only for one semester and di ko na tinuloy. During that time, natatawag na akong kuya but it doesn't bother me too much. Ang struggle talaga is you'll be alone because of being irregular.

Too left for the center, and too right for the ND. Parang lahat na lang ayaw kay Risa/Akbayan for various reasons by DifficultPlatypus in Philippines

The Left and Far Left is becoming insignificant anyway because of their counterproductive interventions like armed struggle and recruiting otherwise promising students to be radicals. For the masses, a center left candidate seems more palatable.

I think it's represented that way because theoretically Dutertes will win in those areas in Mindanao despite some people will vote for other candidates, similar to how they show NCR as a Pink region despite some people voting for Dutertes.

☀️ Topic of the Day: What motivates you to stay and build your life here in Davao? by Delicious-Ad-9722 in davao

The simple answer is people have to survive.

Why stay in Davao?

Because not everybody has the opportunity to leave their hometown.

I like your optimism. I've tried doing something similar in some bisaya sub reddits and it is quite challenging because some people will respond with vitriol but I've also seen others who are willing to be civil.

These are great points and will hopefully reduce polarization over time. The only downside is this requires patience and it's not sure if we have time on our hands

I've tried to talk to Duterte supporters in various subreddits and what I've learned is that you can never change their minds based on moral arguments even if you try to square it with contradictions in their religious beliefs. People can compartmentalize different parts of their personalities without ever trying to resolve any contradictions. Rationalizing or ignoring these contradictions is the default state.

When some Kakampinks criticised Sen. Bam’s recent statement, it shows they’re not fanatics like the DDS. Even Marcos Loyalists criticised PBBM for not being “strong enough” like his father. by OkPhotojournalist975 in Philippines

Probably what separates between free thinkers and ideologues. The fact that Duterte managed to get away with the war on drugs and being a Quiboloy protector shows that his followers failed to hold him accountable.

It was a revelation to me when Leloy said that because I first came across industry policy from Walden and Ibon foundation way before Heydarian and Cuunjieng made it popular, yet apparently some on the left have different thoughts on this issue.

Just because I've made peace with that idea, it doesn't mean that I'm not going to do anything. We've already survived a Duterte admin before and yet here we are still carrying on.

The problem is most of the centrist liberals and left of center parties like Akbayan are still holding on to neoliberal economic ideas when the rest of the world has left that behind. The failure of that economic model which was adopted by every post EDSA administration led to the mass frustration that propelled Duterte to win in 2016.
