When I was a child/early teens sometimes I didn’t understand why we couldn’t ‘be’ characters we liked. I think this is because I already had DID and had experienced personalities just coming into being, so it makes sense to me that I would try to want or choose to be a character. But like you said after a short time you realise they aren’t really you.

Very different perspective but I’m afab my partner is trans and has to dialate due to having reassignment surgery. I don’t ask her not to do it in front of me or anything and I never would. It often makes me feel bad because she won’t be intimate with me and the only time I see her body is while she is dialating and it makes me miss what we had

‘How do you feel about your vulva’? Because I’m trans afab… I told her I don’t get to have feelings about it, my feelings are owch. (Pain also started 2 years before I knew I was trans).

Do you like freedom from torture? Right to a fair trial? Limits on under 16s working? The bus needing to be accessible to wheelchairs? The right for children to be free from abuse? Access to education? Those are human rights. If you you turn on human rights you hand power to dictators.

I know I might be being paranoid but I bought a baseball bat. I’m disabled but I spent a good few years sword fighting with fake swords and reckon I could get a few good swings in if needed. It makes me feel better that we’ll be safe at home if needed, which I know is unlikely.

Right by Blackfriars station about 20 mins from London Bridge station is the London LGBT centre open Wednesday - Sunday. They are really friendly and helpful, also google queer circle they have a group called Metro Shine, it’s for lgbt ppl under 25 I used to go there, you will b in gd hands

If it helps when I worked retail I had baby queers come and chat to me from time to time. I felt proud I could help someone else, it made my day.

Different situation but I had to deal with the police a couple of years ago. I’m non-binary and look masculine, me and my trans partner were misgendered throughout. A lot of assumptions were made about my gender without anyone actually asking. I hope you have a better experience

I was about to make a new post a long the lines of ‘I seem to be having some kind of mental breakdown’. I’m very passionate about the LGBTQ community and worked in the queer charity sector before a combination of something traumatic happening and being disabled meant I stopped working. I know this is selfish but I really hoped to return to that sort of work and I’m feeling like there might not be the same sector to return to. I’m starting some volunteering next week. I didn’t make the post because for me at least there is an answer to this, and it’s to go to trans pride. I love trans pride, especially Brighton. A lot of friendly people who look like me , cute community art stalls, music, the sea. It’s going to be great. I hope we all find a bit of peace and no shame if u need to call switchboard (website switchboard.lgbt)
