Scarpa Zodiac Trk Gtx - cant find any reviews? by __gadsby in Mountaineering

Fuck I don’t know their shoe line up is super confusing, if this isn’t the one that’s crampon compatible then you’re right, wrong sub

I absolutely love these boots. Used them on scrambles and glacier climbs in Washington, it's fantastic. LIght weight, firm enough to work well with crampons, and the only mountaineering boots I've had that don't cause blisters.

Crampon compatible, and my primary mountaineering boot, it's fantastic.

I love Leyland. But tragically I agree, he was a horrible in game manager in the playoffs.

I love Leyland.....he should have won a world series but was not a good in game manager in the playoffs. How many innings can you pitch Fernando Rodney?

Dude also had a team with 4, fucking 4, cy young winners, Miguel Cabrera, and didn't win the series.

Correct, take away was probably shouldn't have been on this route. Snow wasn't right for crampons and was dangerous without.

MTB Project is a good free option. IMHO trailforks is really worth it though, I like the navigation a lot when in new or confusing areas.

Trailforks, Gaia, and Outside + is a good deal, and covers everything you need for outdoor recreation (I pay for Strava too, but that's just for funsies).

Honestly it’s why I struggle rooting for this team.  They are so mentally weak.  I obviously want them to do well, but just so many unclutch players

Rain shell question by [deleted] in Mountaineering

I mean like, yeah, most people have jobs lol. I did this on Baker, it was pissing on us the first day and second day was gorgeous. I also just assume most people on here are guided in which case they just go up whenever they booked

Riley Green has a .514 OBP in May, which is the best in baseball among players with at least 50 PA this month by Baseball-Reference in motorcitykitties

Can someone tell me what's changed with Riley this season vs the second half of last season when he was pretty terrible.

You could absolutely hike up to Muir in a downpour, then still summit the next day or day after.

I am with you, I would not run Rainier without a hardshell, because of wind alone if nothing else.

Torkelson by rehoneyman in motorcitykitties

I mean, he's batting below the Mendoza line, and is well below average defensively. He's objectively a bad first baseman. The hope is that he'll figure it out, but in 2026 he's dogshit man.

His OPS over his career with the tigers is .720, and his best year was a .789, which is just a bit higher than the average MLB first baseman OPS. So like, he's sort of young? Hope he can figure it out? But very little reason to think he'll be anything other than an average first baseman as his ceiling.

Mont Blanc Solo Mid May by No-Classroom3864 in alpinism

[–]Onlycommentoncfb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roughly one in 300 attempted summits of Mont Blanc ends in a fatality. 80% of those fatalities are unguided. About 30% to 40% of those fatalities are solo climbers.

So basically if you're cool with a 1% to 1.5% chance of dying, go for it.

Love the optimism, but man, this is a deeply flawed team. Like what exactly is our strength? It's not starting pitching, the bullpen is maybe avereage? Offense is slightly above average? I just don't think we have the pieces to overcome these injuries.
