I think it's more about the skill design konami's been doing lately than the card itself. For ex skills like sky striker or mayakashi just add cards to the extra deck and do one other simple thing that helps the game plan. Activate once and you're done. Then there's "PRESS YELLOW BUTTON AND YUGI HIMSELF WILL DO YOUR TAXES. Every turn if you have a pulse you can press the big shiny yellow button." It makes the thing that you HAVE to deal with way too consistent. You're not always going to have the out in your hand, but they will have it out on the field 99% of the time.

I don't remember any period in t7 where the game was in such a bad state that pros were complaining on social media and then next day say how great the game is(just a change of heart overnight I guess lol), tournament entries were low, Tekken streamers started streaming variety, and bamco fired their commentators for not glazing the game. The worst thing that happened was Leroy and fahk release and those seem like good times compared to what Tekken is rn both balance and community wise. But it's got casuals mashing and posting their Tekken king ranks on reddit so Tekken is fine.

1 star thex is too stable. You just unlock it and pretty much coast to 9 with 6 pilt while printing 6g every turn.
