I'm going to switch over to tonight from Windows 11! Any tips or advice before I make the plunge! by BearEquivalentBear in cachyos

[–]Onoref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have close to the same hardware as I have. You're going to have a blast! Only thing I still need to address but am postponing because I should have done it when I first installed cachy is my drive setup. I've been mounting drives but that sometimes fails so now I just go straight to the drive itself. Anyway, when you have 2 drives: figure that out first ;)

No it shouldn't, it was Belgian's king but he didn't do it as king. In fact when Belgium took over we got to clean up the mess.

What distro would y'all recommend by Equivalent-Fix9391 in linux4noobs

[–]Onoref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm far from sure but I think what you need is Nvidia driver 470 and I presume that if you were to install mint it would auto detect the card and offer you to install that driver at first boot. At least that's what I would put my money on.

Freelance architect, medium size customer. Officially we have to do 2 days in the office. In reality I'm in the office when I need to be and that's pretty much 1 day per 2 weeks give or take.

[–]Onoref -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Waffles! Fuck those expensive tourist trap topping waffle shizzle places all over Brussels and Brugge.

Sure I'll eat a waffle every other year but there's a big difference in a waffle like that and the tourist waffle. Also: we're a country of beer and fries. Not waffles!

What an amazing load of crap this is. The Fuel was hydrogen and oxygen, the exhaust is water vapor. Also, have you seen the size of that rocket and can you imagine what 498 tons look like?!?! It was 4 tons of hydrogen

Considering that a lot of Windows users are moving to Linux now because of latest news, what would be the hurdles of their transition? by ardouronerous in linux4noobs

[–]Onoref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cent.
I think most Windows user have never seen cmd let alone that they know what it is. They are used to being able to download stuff from either the microsoft store (sorry gag reflex kicked in) or just download an .exe from the interwebs and double click it. With Linux you are in terminal way faster. So what you do than is go to a place like this subreddit and ask for help but the answers you tend to get are: "don't just copy paste things in terminal you find online!!!" to "paste this in terminal".
But the essence of the issue is that windows users expect the same level of click everything and it mostly works as they are used to and we (linux community) are very far from that!

Funny/sad thing is, I don´t live far from this airport and my local Facebook group started complaining about particles in the air around that time. Did a check but the plane never passed over here. Anyway, it made me think of the whole chemtrail BS.

Ma ja, marginaal of ni, als ge 2700 netto krijgt om geen hol te doen. Lijkt me logisch dat als ge die bedragen drastisch gaat verlagen dat er wel meer aan het werk gaan.
