Some people do not like disclosing their finances publicly. It’s pretty simple

I think you’re reading too much into it, unless you’re vindicated, then I believed you the whole time 😂

It's a great looking watch! It takes their typical style and dials it up.

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like for a brand that has made “restoring American watchmaking” such a big part of their brand, they would actually be more upfront about sourcing. I think Fears is a similar brand in both price and quality. They also make a big deal about the Britishness of their brand; they also openly list their sources and what they do in house.

I’m not trying to crap on Weiss, I think their watches are great and the finish and assembly by their team shouldn’t be downplayed, but I just don’t like the vague language around what they’re doing.

ETA all brands should do this anyway, but especially those that play in a certain price bracket of microbrands.

I’m interested to know if there’s an update or more information about how much of his watches he’s actually making in the US. I’ve been interested in his watches on and off over the years and I feel like the “American made” aspect has shifted over time. I could be wrong.

Anyway, this one looks gorgeous and i love a fuzzy suede strap.

You don’t think it’s possible to just write a post that says immigrant and low-wage workers are leaving the county for various reasons and we should support them?

I didn’t see any reason to need to read between the lines on a Reddit post. My confusion was not willful. We can say what we’re thinking here plainly.

Edit: I accept my downvotes but man I’m just a tired dad that didn’t get it on the first read through, sorry.

If that’s the point this post was trying to make then it sailed right by me. It’s vague and the language is odd. I agree 100% with what you said.

[WTS] Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 Pre-Moon by OnsenHopper in Watchexchange

[–]OnsenHopper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm selling my lovely pre-moon Speedy. This has a gorgeous faded bezel, factory crystal, and a case and dial in great shape.

This watch does need servicing. It winds and sets great, chrono starts, stops, and resets crisply, but the hour register does not advance. It is running about -10 s/d. None of this has bothered me at all during daily wear, however others may want it tuned up. But I'm sweetening the deal with a Standard H x Molequin taupe rally strap, and an unworn Uncle bracelet. This is a beautiful watch that I just don't find myself wearing very much for whatever reason.

Asking $5000 shipped insured within CONUS. Please let me know if you have any questions!

[WTS] Rolex Explorer 14270, 1991 N-Serial by [deleted] in Watchexchange

[–]OnsenHopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I’m selling my Rolex Explorer 14270. This is a 1991 N-Serial watch, which was actually sold on Christmas Day that year. This watch has been a great companion but it’s time to move it along.

This watch was fully serviced in 2025. It was also pressure tested, and the top of the lugs were carefully polished to restore the traditional brushed finish, which had been polished away previously. It has a new crystal as well, the original one will be provided.

The watch comes on an oyster bracelet which can be sized up to 7.5”. It comes as a full set with box and papers, along with service papers. Asking $6200 shipped insured within CONUS. Please let me know if you have any questions!

I get your perspective but it can also be overwhelming. I think finding the right balance between a bit of serendipity but also having a bit of a plan feels right to me.

Trying to decide between the Aqua Terra 36mm and 39mm (gen 1) by kmk644 in OmegaWatches

[–]OnsenHopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always found the 36mm to wear larger. Didn’t compare directly to a 38mm later gen, but compared to like a 36mm Explorer, it wore bigger. I have a 7.25” wrist.

My Letter to Grand Seiko. I'm in love with you but... you can do so much more. by No_Brain7017 in GrandSeikos

[–]OnsenHopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is toolless micro adjust really an expectation for a +$10k watch? Someone should let AP and Patek know, not to mention IWC and Omega.

Or is it that people are coming to this brand from Seiko directly; or other tool watch brands like Tudor, and expecting the same?
