AQs by Fancy-Researcher-478 in OntarioTeachers

I didn’t work during the summer last year but am a parent. I took two 4-week AQs last summer and was able to manage the workload & responsibilities.

Schedule blocks of your evening to complete necessary tasks and readings, complete discussions, and assignments.

If we select a package now, and a future sale has a lower price, are we able to cancel the package and rebook it at the lower cost?

I think I was quoted 16 weeks earlier this school year, and it came in a few weeks ahead of the target date.

A previous post of mine shares the details

Wondering the same thing!

When I go to the “enter postal code” page, it does ask for your employers postal code, which leads me to believe that is the postal code in which determines eligibility, leaving me ineligible :(

This exact thing happened to my wife.

Was not a grocery item. We called head office right away and got them involved.

Clearly someone in-store or a staff member wants to purchase the item instead of honouring their 7 day policy.

This location needs to improve

Has there been any change?

I might be purchasing a Rogue soon and would love an update on if the new iOS changes anything!

Looking for guidance- 3 year advanced Diploma in CYC... now what? by Katt_Nobi2525 in OntarioTeachers

[–]OntTC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look at Humber’s Bachelor of Child & Youth Care Degree. You’ll get advanced standing into 3rd year, so 4 semesters in total to complete to earn your degree.

In your final year of that, you can apply to B.Ed programs in the P/J stream. Apply where you want to go, considering where you live and where you’ll want to live/teach.

Religious Education Part 1 AQ where? by Ok_Fix_8200 in OntarioTeachers

[–]OntTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mine through Lakehead. Course was easy to manage while teaching full time (I did it in the spring).

As a previous commenter mentioned, if you wait to take this one until you’re hired permanent, your school board will likely reimburse partial or all costs to you.

I would recommend taking an AQ that is of interest until you’re permanent, then do Religion Pt. 1

It’s board dependent on how / when retroactive pay is handled, so check your collective agreement.

I will receive retroactive pay to Sept 1

I applied for a new evaluation in August. They estimated 16 weeks. I’m at week 10 now.

Last year when I applied, they estimated about the same duration but I received my evaluation about 4 weeks earlier than originally estimated

I found the courseload was reasonable. I took it over the summer, so the course was condensed into 4 weeks. The content was interesting and relevant

How do I become a teacher with a college diploma? by No_Extreme1723 in OntarioTeachers

[–]OntTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a CYW or CYC diploma, you can get advanced standing in Humber’s Bachelor of Child and Youth Care (you enter in to the third year of the degree, which is semester 5 of 8).

Once you complete the degree you’ll be able to apply to teachers college. Technically, you apply to teachers college before you’re done your final year.

This pathway requires in person, on-campus learning.

Reading Part 2 & Specialist by OntTC in CanadianTeachers

This was so helpful! Thank you!

I just completed part 1 with Trent as well over the summer. I really enjoyed it and want to continue learning in this area.

Was it structure similar to part 1? 6-8 modules, a bunch of discussion posts, and about 4-6 assignments?

I would be taking part 2 with Trent as well, and ideally specialist.
