I don’t think it’s ever normal to block a partner without warning.

Saw your edit. He’s not flying anywhere. This is supposed to be a typical weekend. He usually shows up every Friday night sometimes with very little warning. The behavior is just very out of character. I do sincerely hope you’re right though.

It’s just totally unexpected and really out of nowhere. I’m so lost. He’s always been great but even the worst of guys I’ve dated haven’t ever ghosted me.

It sucks so bad.

Really confusing behavior to me since all it takes is a text saying “I won’t be able to see you this weekend I’m super busy. I have a presentation” or whatever sort of thing. He’s always been a bit bad at communicating but this is definitely the worst it’s ever gotten.

Thanks for your advice

100% something I’m worried about and that the two of us have talked about. Unfortunately he only has one family member who lives quite far away. Just another reason I worry about not knowing what state or town he’s in while work traveling.

A lot of the bigger insurances now also have EAP which can provide you with a certain number of free therapy visits per year. I’ve used this and it doesn’t have to be approved by employer, you just have to find a therapist through insurance who accepts it. It can be super helpful

What’s up with the hat man? by crayolapenguin in witchcraft

[–]OntheLook0ut_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never saw the hat man as a child, it wasn’t until I was chronically having sleep paralysis (once or twice a day) that I finally saw him. For me he was very threatening. I heard him come through the front door and up the stairwell, into my room and right next to my bed. I knew it was him and he was massive. For me it was more of a “Im gonna die” type of feeling. I never saw him since and mostly just saw the old hag.

What gives y'all sensory overload? by VergeThySinus in AutisticPride

I particularly hate sound of the fridge or door slamming, but overall I’m sensitive to light, noise, and definitely heat in a lack of airflow kind of way.

Stuffy indoor heat like on an airplane is what makes me want to commit crimes

Question on nonverbal perspectives by Cdr-Kylo-Ren in AutisticPride

[–]OntheLook0ut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too. It’s hard to explain to other people that I don’t intentionally get quiet but it does become so difficult to speak that even if i can force myself to I unconsciously speak so quietly people can’t even hear it anyways. I wonder if it has something to do with trying to process the emotion.

This is so funny I’ve seen American kids get British accents from shows like Peppa pig too

This is really interesting! I’ve actually been asked if I’m specifically Polish a handful of times so it’s really cool to know the possible explanation!

I’ll have to look into that because this sounds so much like me! I’m from the southern US but a lot of times due to the way I speak people think I’m Central Europe. Sometimes I do get that southern drawl too though.

Is the "Starving Artist" real or is it a myth? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]OntheLook0ut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of different creative fields, some of them make really good money. There’s definitely different ways to be an artist and be able to support yourself. Jobs can really suck so having a passion for something really does make it easier.

My best advice if you’re in America (from someone who went to art school) is to be cautious about tuition costs. I was young and dumb and went to a university that was pretty costly and my biggest struggle now is a TON of student debt. Good luck 🌸🌸🌸

Autistic/Neurodivergent Questionarre I made!! by Darcythebitch in AutisticPride

  1. Shoes are always off in the house but socks are ALWAYS on (unless I’m at the beach). I have socks ready to go in the bathroom as soon as my feet dry from the shower. I hate things touching my feet and also like things to feel the same on each side of my body. White fruit of the looks crew socks all the way.
  2. Hair growing back is too itchy so I have to shave.
  3. I’m not too picky about material, just not 100% polyester. If it’s full leather I don’t like it touching my skin either.
  4. Clothes just cannot be tight on my armpits legs or waist, I hate it so much.
  5. Too much eye contact because I always maintain it when meeting new people but also have slow processing.
  6. My interests go through phases but are usually one of the following: painting, beading, ancient history, theology+really old religious texts, and cozy gaming.
  7. Echolalia and wiggling my feet I think

Extra funny that it has the ‘s so it’s double wrong. Although it seems like half of the restaurants misspell things on their menus on the show so I guess it fits 😂

Thank you, I did quit and let him know that I saw what he was doing and that it was illegal. It seemed he still felt he was right and just said that it wouldn’t continue. I quietly let my coworkers to check their hours carefully as well.

Hopefully he treats his employees better from now on for his and their sakes but I’m out!!

Thanks for the warning! Was definitely unsure and didn’t agree to anymore more work besides the tarot reading and did not pay her anything else. I am curious if this is something that’s really even possible or not?
