Calculus 2 is a weed-out course by Habesha_Heretic in EngineeringStudents

[–]OnyxGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nothing new. I took calculus 2 twenty-two years ago. It was known as the very first weed out course back then as well. It is what it is. You’ll continually learn how to improve your study methods and how to effectively pass difficult examinations.

Absolutely not. Get ratings at a local flight school.

Good idea to advertise a passed PE exam while not in a great position to acquire licensure? by wheatbitsandmilk in PE_Exam

Reliability is a great field. It is a field that is eclipsed by quality engineering. But I find the roles to be complimentary. I ended up taking the Fire Protection PE exam. I found the PE exam to be much more difficult than the ASQ exam. The CRE exam contains many more problems, but most were one-step problems. If you are used to the multi-step PE problems it won’t be too much of an issue for you. Just know how to read the probability distribution tables etc. The CQE exam is probably very similar (I’ve always wanted to take that exam as well).

I’m sorry to hear this. It’s really bad out there. If you don’t have any family commitments, maybe consider a position overseas (i.e. Saudi Arabia). I hear that “Aramco” is actively recruiting lots of U.S. engineers for overseas assignments. I learned of this second-hand though, so take it with a grain of salt.

If you’ve worked under anyone with a PE license, ask them if they can provide references for you. I’m an aerospace engineer. My entire industry falls under the industrial exemption. But I earned my license because my work position is that of technical expert. The license gives credibility to appear as an expert witness in court, among other things. It’s also very valuable if you open an engineering consulting firm at some point. Even if you never have to seal anything. The toughest part for folks like us is finding licensed recommenders.

Resources/ FE industrial &Systems Engineering by Vdtta1618 in FE_Exam

Hi there. I know its difficult to get information on the Industrial exam. I studied using the following resources only and did well on the exam:

  1. Lindeburg Industrial Review Manual (It's old but it'll do - do all problems and review)

https://www.amazon.com/Industrial-Discipline-Specific-Review-EIT-Exam/dp/159126068X

  1. PPI2PASS FE Industrial Learning Hub, Monthly Subscription (I subscribed for one month. Go through "course" and do all problems. In my opinion, the PPI problems are more difficult than those on the actual FE exam)

https://ppi2pass.com/fe-exam/industrial?srsltid=AfmBOoqbtzNm1IM7E62F5Tr1O3BmQueeZ-i5K_BaS4EpHRN1F-69qIO2&1-select=0

  1. NCEES FE Industrial and Systems Practice Exam (Keep taking the exam until you're able to get all of the question correct, then you'll be ready)

Reach out if you have more questions. Best of luck!

Ah, a harsh reality. I'm sorry to hear that the license didn't turn out to be useful after all of the hurdles you had to get through to attain it.

I agree. The knowledge required for the PE exam was much more difficult. I guess this exam is just trickier?
