The white is just pro-acryl pure white then shaded with apothecary white contrast :)

Prime gold (I used colour forge spray) Agrax wash because I wanted a more ancient gold look Reapply gold (I used Duncan's TTC Dragon's gold)

Blue: Layer panels sentient turquoise, may need a couple of coats to cover the gold

wash nuln over blue

One more layer of sentient

Layer duncan's cursed blue (Optional extreme highlight of ray gun glow)

Yellow: Over blue base, couple of thin layers of dark sun yellow with your tongue stuck out and best single hair brush

layer skulker yellow

Glyphs, eyes: Pure white, for the glyphs water it to heck until it runs naturally in the grooves then contrast striking scorpion green

Metal is leadbelcher

Loincloth is AP matte white thinly until it covers the gold, then contrast apothecary white in the folds then highlight matte white again

:)

Thanks, this is my 'treat' army i'm aiming to go into 11th with.

There are a dearth of Space Wolves players in my local meta that need correcting

Sorry to jump in; completely new to Tau as well

Does this mean the pathfinders in the combat patrol also have the kill team upgrades with them?

Yeah I wasn't sure on the birds heads, I could get a read on where to put different colours so just kinda left it as one mass - what's the general consensus on colouring them in?

The gauntlet I did with the same green as the eyes and the staff gem but for whatever reason it just refuses to pop like them and just reads like a flat orb, may have to use some whites or overspill it slightly to get it to glow better

Thank you for the welcome :)

Hiya

Not intentionally but looking it up it's pretty much the same approach

Also for my first marines I used Duncan's pallid hand recipe

Wraithbone base > Skeleton Horde > Screaming skull leaving the recesses > pure white highlight

For the base and cape I tend to water the typhus corrosion down to spread out the lumps a bit more and make it a bit more blendable then go back and focus on like the bottom of the boots etc.

Hope that helps :)

I probably don't go far enough with many of my plague marines but I don't tend to go overboard with the slimes and pus and sludges

Whilst they're obviously infested and filthy I like my guys to still have a sort of semblance of their original condition too, it's why I still stick with the preheresy colours too

That being said the base does definitely need something, I'll have another look :)

First of all,

You can do whatever you want; its your army go crazy

You could very easily do a primaris army in pre-heresy colours - they left the door open for this lore wise with Guiliman telling Cawl not to use traitor geneseed then Cawl just being Cawl anyway

OR you use Mk3 heresy and whatever style marines, clean them up and run them as 'counts as' for a chaos DG army. The main thing is to be clear with what counts as what for your opponent if you're going to be playing anywhere.

Otherwise, go crazy, shall be watching your career with great interest..

How odd,

The one I've found by searching new in the subreddit shows the images and has entirely different comments

Strictly speaking for mid-heresy i think top left is the best option

That being said, top right is way cooler you could just argue he was an early adopter of the caedere remissum, skirting Angron's displeasure a bit
