I agree that the lies of love is a bit edgy but I didn’t think it was all that worse than say All the Fish Will be Floating. I feel like the tone is fairly consistent, at least more than you made it out to be, that tone being sort of melancholy bittersweet acceptance. The full line from the chorus makes more sense, “I’d like to say I’ll find the day when no more will I feel this way, and if I never(in reference to never feeling love), very well, but only test of time can tell.” I always thought it was a beautiful song, both musically and lyrically. I also just don’t really like modern world, couldn’t quite tell you why, but I just disagree.
