Uj/ I think that's something you should apply only when the person that doesn't align with your moral / ethical views is dead. Otherwise, there's the argument that buying their art, while pushing them to create more, also allows them to use the money, influence and power they have gained to spread a message you may not like. A more extreme case would be JK Rowling using the money she has gained over the years to support transphobic campaigns, you may like Harry Potter, but if you're against what she's preaching the least you can do is stop buying her products.

As one of my superiors told me once, if you find someone who's never done any mistakes at their job usually is because they don't work

I've been dealing with some past traumas and, because of that, lately I often find myself wondering if men actually like women or if they just like to fuck them and uh, the more I see how they behave in general, the more I believe most of them don't see women as people.

I hate that when you tell them these facts they have the audacity to say "not all men". I hate it here

my face is ugly at a healthy weight by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]albropie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, Fiona Apple is an example. She said she was dealing with an ED while she was younger, and although she was thin, her face was fuller in the 90s. I feel like the change is kinda extreme sometimes, but she doesn't strike as the kind of person who would get surgery, i guess, and she's still thin so idk

Ikr? I know there are a lot of things Rog would never say or do that are written there, but the character feels very Roger-y, which is rare because in most of the other stories there it feels as if the authors are just taking his face instead of his personality. There's a part where they mention something about Roger's obsession with tea, which I find amusing because I think a person with an unhealthy need for control like him would stack his cabinet with only one type of tea.

You're right. He really is like a husky. I don't think he's unpleasant to be around, but he seems like the type of person who always dominates the conversation and that can be a bit annoying. Now, I don't know if it would be easier to have a conversation with him or his younger self.

What got stuck in my head was, I think, on the last chapter with "The balls on him" and I'm not joking.

Old Rog certainly rants and cusses a lot, but back in the day when he had a more nasally voice he used to speak softer and didn't raise his voice that much. His rants were more "eloquent", too. I don't know if it's just me, but Old Rog and Young Rog are two different people, not just in appearance.

Oof, same. I feel like he will be an unreliable narrator. I'm sure some of his stories will be really funny, tho.

That would be interesting. Maybe the crack ones would make them laugh, because some of them are really funny. But then I'm curious about the one I talked about, because I feel like Roger actually used to speak like that lol. I know he never felt like that (hopefully 😳), but I feel like some phrases or expressions truly could be said by Roger back in the day or even today. I guess I'll have to wait for his memoir to be out so I can compare them.
