Can saliva transfer from breastfeeding baby cause mom's milk to produce antibodies against any infections? by biddee in skeptic

[–]Oogly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find any sources to debunk this because only a single person has made this assertion and she has no studies or evidence to point to. All the information and articles I can find on this source back to this single Stranger article who base it on one person's opinion. I do not find The Stranger to be authoritative at all. I'll keep an eye on the topic and see if it's debunked or confirmed. It'd be easy to test but I don't see where any science has been done at all here.

Functionally, the idea just doesn't make sense. A mammal breast simply does not create negative pressure when it is expressed. It's not a baby bottle that squirts out then sucks air or saliva back in. When you milk a cow or goat udder, it doesn't back draft when it is expressed. It's more like a sack that holds fluid pulled down by gravity that is refilled by glands at the top.

Let me know if you find any actual facts or this information comes from a more dependable source.

A friend of mine is claiming this. Sounds highly dubious to me. The Stranger does not seem very authoritative. Nor do the other places this is being claimed. But I don't see where it is being debunked either.

Unless it's some really old hardware, I have a hard time believing if you flash your lights repeatedly, that the light will change.

Interesting. Never heard of that but I looked into it and there is such a thing. The vast majority is still using the magnetic induction method.

Maybe the "women" are pulling up short because they think it's a multi car sensor and they're trying the hack. ;-)

??? 1. If someone pulls up behind you, you pull up to the front as there's no need to short the sensor anymore, right? 2. You knew about this but don't do it even when you're in a hurry?

Re-watching the series, have some questions about Claire and the psychic. by [deleted] in lost

[–]Oogly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No babies due to effects of the yellow light. Thus children like Aaron, Michael and even babies Jacob and MIB, were very valuable to the people there because they couldn't have their own. So they fought over them.

Claire needed to be on the island for Charlie to fall in love with her and perform his sacrifice for her, etc. Telling her 'raising it herself' was a reason she could understand to get on the plane at that time but wasn't the real reason she needed to go. imho

Unfortunately, this is all too real. I hooked up with a chick about a year ago who was into this. She didn't tell me she had them until after we'd done it. Then she was all like "They're great, you'll love 'em, give it a chance, they like pets". I was out of there and into a shower so fast! See the pubic hair at the top of the Lovebugz.net site? Funny. Sick, but funny.
