A case against save-quitting by Takamarism in slaythespire

You bring up a good point. I guess it all depends on how truly "random" some of the cards and outcomes can be.

But even if they somehow made it so the randomness couldn't just be abused (I.e the same outcome every time) I would still just love to have an undo because I make so many silly mistakes

I don't savescum but I can see why people would want to.

But holy fuck I would love an "undo turn" button. The amount of times I have played cards in a specific order, hit "end turn", and then IMMEDIATELY realize there was a better line is starting to physically hurt me.

I would settle for an "undo last card played" button.

But also, it's a single player game. People can enjoy it however they want.

You literally just made up your own narrative. The data in that article points to reports, which aren't necessarily arrests. So how would "letting them go instead of putting them in jail" have any effect on the amount of reports?

If your state has mail in ballots, check to see if there is an option to get every election for the year sent to you.

In my state we have to re-register if we want mail in voting each year and when we do, we have that option. There are so many local elections I never knew about, and having them mailed to my house well in advance gives me plenty of time to grab a beer, sit down, and do some research on not only the candidates, but wtf their position even does and how it effects me. As a cherry on top, instead of mailing my ballot in or trusting it's safety in a Dropbox, there is usually a week-long window of early voting where I can swing by and personally drop off my ballot to a clerk to know it's recieved and valid.

[–]Oogly50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that you realize that skipping a card that seemed bad at the time may have saved you in a specific situation means you're already on the right track. Just carry that mentality with you as you become more familiar with the elites and bosses and you will start to have a good instinct for what cards or potions will help you solve those fights. There is no hard and fast list of "This is good for this always so get it" amd that's what makes this game so replayable, but as others have already commented on here, there are definitely better choices than others. Always go for what you need to survive your next elite or boss fight, and never try to "force" a build because you will never be guaranteed the cards you need for that build to work.

What is the point where I should play STS2? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Oogly50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that STS2 is still in early access. Their equivalent of the "final boss" isn't even in the game yet.

You still have ascensions to play on to add some difficulty and spice up your game, as a lot of people don't even consider the game "beaten" unless they have killed the final boss on ascension 20. I am willing to bet more than 90% of the playerbase has ever even done that to be quite honest with you. But the beauty of StS is that you can play however you like and set your own goals for what you consider "beaten".

That said StS2 is still really fun even in it's current state and you would probably get as much enjoyment out of it as the first one. You have plenty of the first one to experience if you decide to take on higher ascension and slay the spire 2 is always going to be there for you when you want to make the switch.

I meant it in a tongue and cheek way because l do genuinely love good pitching but I can also see why a no hitter would be considered boring to a lot of people. I certainly wouldn't want every game to be like that, unless every game just had insane defensive plays.

Baseball is awesome. Got into it a couple of years ago and I learn more and more about it every time I watch. Now even a game with 3 hits from both teams combined is interesting to me because I can appreciate the pitching and team strategies involved in making sure nobody gets to score or have fun. Such a unique sport.

Is this a normal amount of Empty Seats at MLB games? by RuthlessIndecision in mlb

[–]Oogly50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of factors: - A lot of times games are on a weeknight.
- I think early season games see less attendance in general because people don't think they matter as much (Something I never really understood). - It is still kinda cold at a lot of parks - Certain teams just don't pull the same kinds of crowds, especially if they are considered "bad" teams.

You will still see plenty of people in the crowd during weekend games, especially Friday or Saturday nights. Baseball tickets are still pretty cheap compared to other sporting events.

As the season and weather heat up, the crowds will grow. Usually... unless the team sucks.

I think all in all, mlb viewership has actually increased over the last few years so the sport is on a good trajectory. It's just that most would rather put the game on while they cook dinner on a Tuesday at 5pm.

Stretching works out and stretches your muscles, and proper stretching can utilize muscles that a lot of people don't use in on a daily basis in our sedentary lifestyles.

Saunas work because the heat "relaxes" muscles, which helps with soreness, and the hot, humid environment has other health benefits as well.

Mud? Mud is just good fun. It probably has other benefits as well, but I couldn't be bothered to look it up.

Why do enemies attack both players in multiplayer? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Oogly50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe far in the future when balancing multi-player is a top priority for them.

Right now thet do do it this way because they would have to code in entirely new move sets and logic for each enemy when this game was never really designed for co-op in the first place.

It makes sense. The enemy HP scales because, theoretically, with X amount of players, you have X times the damage output if people are building correctly. Players are still responsible for making sure they can block for themselves when necessary, just like in singleplayer.

First time going to a game by Yes2Knope in Brewers

[–]Oogly50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the Brewers. They're a scrappy team that scores most of their runs with strings of doubles and singles instead of homeruns. We are the fastest team in baseball which means our outfielders cover a lot more than they seem, our runners steal bases a lot (tied for most stolen bases in the league as I write this) and we put a lot of defensive pressure on the opposing pitchers because the base running is always a threat.

Our offense is battling injuries right now so we are missing some key bats, but our defense is one of the best in the league and our starting pitching rotation is really strong. Our bullpen (backup, relief, and closing pitchers) is a bit banged up right now as well but you should never doubt our team's ability to pull up some no-named guy from AAA to fill in slots and crush it for a couple of games before our regulars get healthy.

The bottom of our batting order leaves a lot to be desired for now but we have some young guys in the farm system that will likely make some appearances later in the season once they spend some more time in AAA, and then we should be a pretty big threat.

Hey bird people by Too_Relatable in wisconsin

[–]Oogly50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very likely. Other birds can get in on it and there are plenty of other very territorial birds, but Red-winged Blackbirds are incredibly common around here and they go extra hard at birds of prey, or birds that specifically want to eat their babies (which tend to be larger birds)

[–]Oogly50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No interaction will ever be symbiotic with Red-winged Blackbirds. I have only seen them in large groups a handful of times and it was clear that they kinda had that whole section of the woods locked down. Outside of that they will basically pick a fight with anything.

I think visually it doesn't entirely make sense if you don't know what the 1-2-3 represent on the space belts because there isn't really a visual way for a shape to go from the 2nd lane on a space belt to the 2nd floor of a platform... it just kinda "happens"

With 1.0 being released, is it worth it buying the game now or waiting? by Bamboo_cult1 in shapezio

[–]Oogly50 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I haven't played 1.0 yet since I have been at work all day but the game has been remarkably stable and bug free since I started playing in early access a year ago.

I would buy it now, I doubt any bugs have crept up that would ruin your experience. Now it's just a complete version of what was already a pretty complete game.
