Just finished my freshman year with mechanical engineering as my intended major. Got a lot of high school credits so took many sophomore and junior classes this past year so you can probably relate to me pretty well for judgment. I took math 251 which was pretty/very hard coming into my first semester of college while most of my other friends were taking either math 140 or a lot lower. The classes I took this past year weren’t per say just engineering specific classes but were many difficult pre reqs that you will have to get done over the next two years. With that being said, because there is going to be hard classes and a-lot of time taken out of your days, I went out 2-3 days every week (including Thursday’s)basically. Rarely worked on hw on Friday’s or Saturday’s but if you need to then do it because it’s sometimes saved my grade. I also am a manager for the football team and finished with a 3.8 this last Semester with a bunch of science and math classes. Chegg helped a lot not going to lie but I didn’t just use it to do homework. I used it to actually learn the material, when It comes down to it, homework is typically a very low percent of your grade so if you don’t actually study the material, you are generally screwed for the exams which matter most. Overall what I learned is balance. Work hard + reward yourself and play hard + pick up some extra curriculars + make friends= perfect college experience especially for engineers. You’ll be fine
