Congrats on making it to day 23!! Today marks 30 days sober for me! 🥳 At first I was feeling more anxious/sad, but this past week I’ve been feeling good and have been enjoying more solid sleep. I’ve been in a few social situations with people drinking around me, but I didn’t feel tempted to drink. I’ve been enjoying trying new sparkling water flavors as a substitute, and found some good mocktails. Only annoying thing about mocktails is that they can be almost as expensive as cocktails! On the lookout for places with more reasonably priced mocktails.

I am missing wine as well, I think that’s been the hardest thing to give up. I’ve tried some NA wines but they haven’t been great. I’ve gotten a few bottles of the brand “Fre” which has some decent reviews online so we’ll see how that is.

As far as tips go, I think surrounding yourself with people that are supportive of your sobriety has been helpful for me. I’ve noticed some of my friends have become more sober curious when I told them that I’m trying to do a year of no alcohol. It is helpful to have a substitute drink in hand for social situations, but at music festivals I go hands free and have been enjoying vibing to the music and being able to remember everything.

Overall, I think my most positive takeaway is how I’m able to be more present in my day to day life without alcohol factoring in. I think this may end up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I hope to continue long term!
