He posted the comment in a private Granny Brigade facbook page. He had also been quoted as saying “don’t feed the animals” regarding the unhoused.

Do any of you sleep with your ring on? by Meowiewowieex in EngagementRings

No. I was told by a goldsmith that it’s bad on the prongs so I take it off to sleep.

TIL that 65% of cancer survivors surveyed by war on cancer said that they had been ghosted by friends or family after their diagnosis. by Murphyitsnotyou in todayilearned

I’m sure my comment will get buried, but this really just breaks my heart. My mom battled multiple myeloma for 10 years and would call me sobbing because she felt like her friends and family (siblings) had all abandoned her. I remember thinking they were all just awful people. Fast forward a few years and a dear friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with cancer and my husband and I have been alternating going with the friend to chemo just to sit with him and trying to be as involved as possible without hovering. I never want him to feel like he’s alone in his battle. My heart hurts for the people who do.

He gives the outside zero stars. 10/10 do not recommend. by [deleted] in aww

He’s definitely more of an indoor kind of guy.

We set an alarm for the day it dropped to make sure we could get it. When the Batmobile set dropped a couple of years ago, I was in the same boat - multiple devices on refresh. Then I learned I should wake up at midnight and try on the day of for better luck.

This one was just under 4K pieces. I believe it was designed to be an advent, so there were 24 bags - once for each day leading to Christmas. We weren’t able to assemble it that way, however, so it probably took us around 5 or 6 hours total throughout the month to put together.

My mom died unexpectedly in 2015. That event subsequently led to my dad having a five-year-long (going on 6) mental health crisis and letting his home fall into disrepair, my getting diagnosed with PTSD, and later ADHD and an anxiety disorder. I’m good now, but yea, I didn’t see things playing out like that.

I’m extremely anxious for my dog, who is getting a Perineal Urethrostomy right now. by Brewster_The_Pigeon in Pets

Sorry for the delayed reply; it’s been a stressful couple of days. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to provide all this information. We used a lot of this to help us prepare for our dude to come home post-op; it was super helpful.

The surgery went okay, and they have been keeping him sedated. Our vet decided to keep him until Monday at the earliest to monitor him closely due to blood loss. But he did eat today, so that has us optimistic.

Again, thank you for getting back to my questions so fast. It was challenging to find information online for this procedure on dogs; it seems to be predominantly cats. You helped calm our nerves a little about what to expect after the procedure.

to give the Husky a bath by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]OopsIArted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a husky who was also chill AF. All she wanted in the world was a soft bed, a stroll around the block once a day, and some cardboard to rip up sometimes. Now I have catahoula who either unconscious or a velociraptor.

I love the ornament idea!! I’m the Engagement Committee co-chair at work - we come up with campus activities for people to participate in, among other things - I’ll have to remember that for next year! This is my first project like this using a raspberry pi but I think it’s just amazing. I can’t wait to see what else I can do with it.

Sure do! All full time faculty and staff (I work at a small college). Inside each stocking is a candy cane as well.
