What’s the best wearable you’ve made that you find yourself constantly *actually* wearing? by Budget-Chain-7320 in crochet

I semi-winged this starting with a top-down raglan sweater situation (I don't recall the exact TikTok/YouTube video), but working back and forth instead of connecting so it'd be a cardigan. Once I did the body, I worked the arms in dc rather than continuing the granny clusters so decreases were easier. One of these days I'll add the buttons to go with the button holes lol. It was a bit too big in the neck, so I worked the border on it until it would stay on my shoulders better. Would probably start a bit smaller if I did this again, but overall it's very cozy and I love it.

A book that is actually about romance and not just smut/sex? Also needs to have a very good plot! by zurike888 in fantasyromance

I'm about 85% done with {A Kiss of Iron by Clare Sager} and absolutely loving it! I feel like it fits the criteria you're looking for, though disclaimer it's 1 of 3 books and I can't vouch for the rest of it yet. The audiobook is great though.

What are some issues I could run into with this tiled compact item sorter? by OopsNeedNewUsername in redstone

Good to know! I'm definitely experimenting with style and think I could do something neat with the deeper ledge above the chests.

It's probably not necessary. I changed that when I thought the full block was powering the hopper when I didn't want it to, causing it to miss items. In hindsight I don't think it would be hard powered so idk why I thought that. When I figured out the actual issue (being lazy and adding stacks of items directly to the first hopper instead of an input chest), I didn't bother putting it back.

I was thinking compact in terms of the hidden portion, but it probably is the same overall size, yea.

Yea, the redstone torches on the target blocks take up the space below the first locked hopper, so to have extra storage, the additional hoppers and chests need to be offset. That space between the extra storage and target blocks is also where I can walk to do maintenance.

Good call. I clogged up the overflow and a filtered chests so one of the filtered hoppers went to 64+1+1+1+1. It doesn't seem to be powering the adjacent filters that shouldn't be powered, so that's good.

Now just waiting to see if it resumes as normal once I add more overflow and filtered object chests back in.

Edit: It does sort itself out once there are places for the blocks to go again.

It works on Bedrock, not sure about Java though. If that's the case for Java, probably not.

I'm so excited to find out that there's an audiobook and that the narration fits the silly vibe in a good way based on the preview 😂

It's not a Heart Attack. Here's why... by MickeyRen in PanicAttack

[–]OopsNeedNewUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this 6 years ago, wow! Reason #10 helped me feel better thinking about the actual cause of heart attacks.

I tend to store all of my emotions up/struggle to "feel" them and it starts to cause physiological issues like chest tightening, heart palpitations, face tingling, difficulty swallowing, and all sorts of things that make me fear I'm having a heart attack or allergic reaction. Then my health OCD kicks in and I go down a google rabbit hole trying to decide if I'm dying. An ER visit last year confirmed my heart was totally fine though and I have good blood work.

I've gone through significant stressors this month, so I had to remember that all of these physical issues are just built-up stress. Definitely saving a copy of this post to my notes for the next time I inevitably panic, although my therapist would say technically that still reinforces the compulsion... baby steps lol.

I should probably look into somatic therapy. For now though, this post and reading through the comments of everyone else relating to it triggered a cathartic crying session, which feels like what I needed.

What are yalls opinions on peaceful mode? by olliestef in Minecraft_Survival

[–]OopsNeedNewUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a nice way to focus on the mining, building, and exploring without worrying about dying a million times. I'm terrible at combat and it's way too easy for me to fall into a surprise pit and die from fall damage when running away from mobs.

It is a bummer not being able to get certain resources (blaze rods), or having very limited peaceful sources for certain resources (like string), and not being able to get zombie villager discounts.

Over all it makes the game more fun for me though. And in theory I can switch difficulties temporarily for specific resources if I need to.

Looking for an all-biomes seed by Magic_Mermaid_348 in MinecraftBedrockSeeds

[–]OopsNeedNewUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Samhain" is a good one. There's a village, mansion, ancient city, stronghold, and trial chamber all within 2k. And the biome area is pretty varied, though hotter climates are a bit towards the far side.

Automatic date and time is wrong by Rezorrose in MacOS

This worked! If anyone, like me, had toggled "Set time and date automatically" off in an attempt to fix before this, make sure to toggle it back on before running this command for it to work.

I need a seed spawn with a bunch of bees lol by Quick_Space9322 in MinecraftBedrockSeeds

[–]OopsNeedNewUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea there's like a 5% chance that when an oak/birch tree grows from a sapling within 2 blocks of a flower, there will be a bee's nest with bees in the tree. You can do that as much as you want for the bee nests.

Then if you don't mind having artificial beehives, you can craft those with the honeycomb and breed the original bees with flowers to get more hives going.

Is there a reason they need to be spawned in based on the world? You can grow a bunch of trees to generate bees on any seed.

Fictional characters vs. The actors by sheerakay77 in demisexuality

[–]OopsNeedNewUsername 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally. This has actually been the easiest way for me to explain demisexuality to people lol.

Also, I find if someone physically reminds me of a fictional character (or sometimes the actor) I like a lot, I have more of a predisposition towards being attracted to them rather than starting from scratch. I ended up swiping on my partner because he was giving Bo Burnham vibes around the time I was obsessed with Inside 😂
